  • Patent number: 8967869
Abstract: Particles, embedded into a sliding layer, have a coating, within which a lubricant, e.g., a liquid, is contained. A component with the sliding layer provides a sliding surface that can be used as a backup bearing to ensure emergency operating properties, for example, of a shaft that is mounted in a main bearing. When the shaft strikes the bearing surface, the coating of the particles that are exposed on the bearing surface are destroyed and the lubricant can exit. Advantageously, the sliding properties of the sliding surface are thereby improved.

  • Patent number: 8314053
Abstract: The invention relates to a component that is suitable for use as a sliding bearing. The invention further relates to a method for the production of said component. The design of the component according to the invention provides a layer of a light metal material (13), which is provided with an oxide layer (15) containing pores (16) in the direction of the sliding surface (23) of the component. A hard material (18) is placed in the pores, which greatly increases the firmness of said layer region, thus creating the mechanical firmness for use as a sliding bearing. In order to counteract the tendency of said firm layer region to experience brittle failure, the oxide layer (15) is coated with a solid lubricant layer (20). Said solid lubricant layer comprises a metallic, ductile matrix (21), which distributes a force (F) acting at certain points over a larger surface region (b).

  • Publication number: 20120247966
Abstract: A method electrochemically coats a substrate by brush plating. Particles are applied to the surface to be coated via a separated line system before the carrier for the electrolytes. The electrolyte is added to the carrier via a line system. The advantageous result thereof is that an agglomeration of the particles can be prevented because only a short time passes after the application of the particles until the formation of the layer. A device for electrochemical coating has two line systems for the cited purpose. The highly stressed surface components of rollers in rolling mills can be partially coated by the method.

  • Publication number: 20110100825
Abstract: A component with a layer with CNT incorporated into thereof is disclosed. Particles of a dry lubricant are also embedded into the layer. The layer is particularly suited for electrical contact surfaces due to the embedded CNT. Further provided is a method for electrochemically producing the layer in which preferably ionic fluids are used as an electrolyte.

  • Patent number: 7935428
Abstract: The invention relates to a component made from a substrate with a coating, whereby that coating forms a surface of the component with reduced wettability. The invention further relates to production of said component. The coating which forms a surface with projections and recesses, brings about a reduction in wettability, in particular, by means of an effect based on the properties of lotus blossom. According to the invention, a metal with antimicrobial properties, in particular silver is provided under the coating, which is not fully covered, in other words, regions remain free of the coating in which the surface of the component is formed by the antimicrobial properties.

  • Publication number: 20110033692
Abstract: A composite material is composed of a metal matrix in which CNT filaments are distributed. The CNT filaments are intertwined, interwoven, or tied together, and the matrix is cold-worked. The matrix material is thereby filled with a higher percentage of CNT filaments than when dispersed CNT are electrodeposited. In a method for producing such a composite material, suitable semifinished products such as knitted fabrics, woven fabrics, nets, fleeces, or papers made of CNT filaments are coated (preferably electroplated) with the metal matrix.
