  • Patent number: 12515629
Abstract: In an electronic parking braking system and a control method thereof, the system includes a transmission apparatus, a main parking braking controller and an auxiliary parking braking controller. The transmission apparatus sends a parking request signal when a parking (P) stage is input. The main parking braking controller determines whether being capable of performing a main parking braking control upon receiving the parking request signal, performs the main parking braking control upon determining that the main parking braking controller can perform the main parking braking control, and sends a failure signal to the transmission apparatus upon determining that the main parking braking controller cannot perform the main parking braking control. When the transmission apparatus receives the failure signal, the auxiliary parking braking controller may perform an auxiliary parking braking control.
