  • Publication number: 20200304942
Abstract: To obtain a relative localization between a plurality of mobile devices, a first mobile device observes a second mobile device within a field of view of the first mobile device's camera at time t1, determines a first position of the first mobile device at t1, and receives from the second mobile device a second position of the second mobile device at t1. The first mobile device determines information about the first mobile device's orientation with respect to the second mobile device at t1 based at least in part on the first position and the observation of the second mobile device. The first mobile device identifies two constraints that relate the mobile devices' coordinate systems based at least in part on the second position and the orientation information. The first mobile device's pose relative to the second mobile device may be calculated once at least six constraints are accumulated.

  • Publication number: 20200292151
Abstract: A luminaire (10) comprises an array of lighting units (12) arranged as a plurality of regions (14a-14e). A reflector arrangement (16) is provided over the array of lighting units (12) for directing the light from each region (14a-14e) of the luminaire (10) to a different spread of light output directions. Each lighting unit (12) of at least one of the regions (14a-14e) comprises a first sub-unit (20, 22, 24) with a first polarised light output and a second sub-unit (20, 22, 24) with a second light output which is different from the first light output in polarisation, wherein the first and second sub-units (20, 22, 24) are independently controllable. In this way, light output in a certain range of directions can be controlled to have a desired polarisation. By actuating different sub-units (20, 22, 24), the polarisation can be dynamically controlled.

  • Publication number: 20200273314
Abstract: Some embodiments provide a method for a first network slice selector that selects network slices for connections from endpoint devices located within a first geographic range. The method selects a network slice for a connection between a mobile endpoint device and a network domain that originates when the mobile endpoint device is located within the first geographic range. The method stores state that maps the connection to the selected network slice. The method forwards data traffic belonging to the connection from the mobile endpoint device onto the selected network slice using the stored state. After the mobile endpoint device moves from the first geographic range to a second geographic range, the method receives data traffic belonging to the connection from a second network slice selector that selects network slices for connections from endpoint devices within the second geographic range and forwards said received data traffic onto the selected network slice.

  • Publication number: 20200275359
Abstract: Some embodiments provide a method for a network slice selector that forwards messages from endpoint electronic devices onto different network slices of multiple network slices. The method receives a set of connection initiation messages setting up a connection between an endpoint electronic device and a network domain. The method forwards the set of connection initiation messages from the endpoint electronic device onto a default network slice while storing data regarding the connection initiation messages. After the connection is setup, the method receives a data message belonging to the connection from the endpoint electronic device. The method selects one of the plurality of network slices to which the electronic device has access as the network slice for the connection based on analysis of the received data message. The method retransmits the set of connection initiation messages on the selected network slice between the network slice selector and a network gateway.
