Patent number: 12291984Abstract: A method for evaluating a sensor signal of an exhaust NOx sensor, which is disposed downstream of a three-way catalytic converter in an exhaust system of a spark ignition internal combustion engine. An ammonia factor is modeled downstream of the three-way catalytic converter using an ammonia formation model. A NOx emission is modeled in the exhaust system downstream of the three-way catalytic converter using a NOx model. The modeled ammonia emissions and the modeled NOx emission are separated by a separation algorithm using the sensor signal of the exhaust NOx sensor. The separation algorithm provides quantitative information about the tailpipe ammonia emissions and the tailpipe NOx emissions of the spark ignition internal combustion engine. An engine control unit and an internal combustion engine for carrying out such a method are also provided.Type: GrantFiled: March 24, 2024Date of Patent: May 6, 2025Assignee: Volkswagen AktiengesellschaftInventors: Marc-Andre Golkowski, Till Stoetzel

Publication number: 20250135210Abstract: This disclosure describes, among other embodiments, systems and related methods for selecting electrode combinations to be used during nerve pacing procedures. A first set of electrode combinations of a nerve pacing system, such as a phrenic nerve pacing system for diaphragm activation, may be mapped (or tested) to determine the location of the electrode combinations relative to a target nerve. Once the general location of the target nerve is known, a more localized second set of electrode combinations may be tested to determine the most suitable electrode combinations for nerve stimulation. At various stages of the mapping process, electrode combinations that are non-optimal may be discarded as candidates for use in a nerve pacing procedure. The systems and methods described herein may allow for the selection of electrode combinations that are most suitable for stimulation of the left and right phrenic nerves during diaphragm pacing.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 8, 2024Publication date: May 1, 2025Applicant: Lungpacer Medical Inc.Inventors: Joaquin Andres HOFFER, Gautam SADARANGANI, Marc-Andre NOLETTE, Viral THAKKAR, Bao Dung TRAN

Patent number: 12288411Abstract: In example embodiments, techniques are provided that use two different ML models (a symbol association ML model and a link association ML model), one to extract associations between text labels and one to extract associations between symbols and links, in a schematic diagram (e.g., P&ID) in an image-only format. The two models may use different ML architectures. For example, the symbol association ML model may use a deep learning neural network architecture that receives for each possible text label and symbol pair both a context and a request, and produces a score indicating confidence the pair is associated. The link association ML model may use a gradient boosting tree architecture that receives for each possible text label and link pair a set of multiple features describing at least the geometric relationship between the possible text label and link pair and produces a score indicating confidence the pair is associated.Type: GrantFiled: October 6, 2022Date of Patent: April 29, 2025Assignee: Bentley Systems, IncorporatedInventors: Marc-Andrè Gardner, Simon Savary, Louis-Philippe Asselin

Publication number: 20250116529Abstract: Techniques for enabling a library of local maps to remain de-coupled from a global map are disclosed. An MR system is determined to be located on a platform that is currently moving or that has an ability to readily move. That platform's type is determined. Based on the determined type for the platform, a 3D boundary that approximates a shape for the platform's type is generated. The 3D boundary is imposed on the platform. Scanning data for the platform is acquired. The bounds for that scanning data is at least initially limited to that of the 3D boundary. The scanning data is used to build or supplement a library of local maps. The library is representative of the platform. That library is prevented from being coupled to a global map.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 16, 2024Publication date: April 10, 2025Inventors: Joshua Aidan ELSDON, Marc Andre Leon POLLEFEYS, David John MCKINNON
