    Abstract: There is provided a system for securing a cockpit from a cabin. A lavatory door has a locking mechanism provided thereon. A latching mechanism is provided on an adjacent structure across an aisle from the lavatory. The locking mechanism is compatible with the latching mechanism to secure the lavatory door in an open position, thereby forming a secure area for entering from the cockpit.
