  • Patent number: 5654192
Abstract: The invention relates to a decontamination process for a porous medium polluted by hydrocarbons according to a composition containing a surface active agent as glycolipids in their crude or modified form is introduced, for example by at least one input well, in the optional presence of hydrocarbon-destroying bacteria and at least one part of the composition containing at least one part of the hydrocarbons is collected, for example by a production well.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 5, 1995
Date of Patent: August 5, 1997
    Assignee: Institut Francais du Petrole
Inventors: Jean Ducreux, Daniel Ballerini, Marc Baviere, Christian Bocard, Nicole Monin
  • Patent number: 5326407
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for cleansing solid particles impregnated with hydrocarbons. The process implements a solution comprising sophorosides. The process is particularly intended for washing cuttings impregnated with a drilling fluid containing hydrocarbons.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 26, 1993
Date of Patent: July 5, 1994
    Assignee: Institut Francais du Petrole
Inventors: Marc Baviere, Didier Degouy, Jacqueline Lecourtier
  • Patent number: 4686053
Abstract: In the preparation of miceller systems for enhanced hydrocarbon recovery, surfactants are used which consist of N-acyl N-alkyl-.alpha.-amino-carboxylic compounds. The considered products comply with the general formulas: ##STR1## wherein at least one of R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 is a saturated or unsaturated C.sub.1 -C.sub.22 aliphatic hydrocarbon radical (one of them having optionally a carboxylic group) the other or others being a hydrogen atom, R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 having together from 4 to 22 carbon atoms, R.sup.4 is an alkyl radical of 1-5 carbon atoms, R.sup.5 an alkyl radical of 1-12 carbon atoms and M is an alkali or alkaline-earth metal, ammonium or a quaternary ammonium group. As used in the formation of micellar systems (aqueous solutions, emulsions or mirco-emulsions) for enhanced oil recovery, these surfactants have improved performances, particularly, in field waters of high polyvalent ion (Ca.sup.++ and Mg.sup.++) content, within relatively wide temperature and pH ranges.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 4648451
Abstract: A process for the enhanced oil recovery in oil reservoirs having a significant cation exchange capacity. A displacement slug is injected into an injection well formed from several successive zones, the solubility in the injection water of the anionic surfactant which it contains being adjusted so as to increase, for compensating the rock-micellar solution interactions, from one zone of the slug to the next considering the order of introducing the different zones of the slug.
