  • Publication number: 20250174008
Abstract: At a waste management apparatus mounted on a waste collection vehicle, images of the waste dumped into a hopper are acquired. Objects are detected and a class is assigned to each object in a predefined classification e.g. by using an Al module. New objects are determined amongst the detected objects. Each new object is mapped to an expected type of waste collection tour, using a mapping table where sorting rules are stored. An actual type of waste collection tour is obtained. And a rate of waste contamination is calculated for a given location of the waste collection vehicle during a given waste collection tour as a function of the number of new objects identified at said given location which classes are mapped with an expected type of waste collection tour other than the actual type of the given waste collection tour.

  • Publication number: 20250174031
Abstract: At a waste management apparatus mounted on a waste collection vehicle, images of the waste dumped into a hopper are acquired. An AI module is used to detect the objects and provide, for each detected object, a position in the image and a class in a predefined classification of objects. New objects are determined amongst the detected objects based on the output of the AI module. Each object detected in the given image is compared with a history of objects detected in a plurality of previous images, based on a function of a plurality of distances comprising at least a distance between the class and a distance between the position of the objects being compared.

Objects are detected and a class is assigned to each object in a predefined classification e.g. using an AI module. New objects are determined amongst the detected objects and information about the new objects are sent to a remote server, where each new object is mapped to an expected type of waste collection tour, suing a mapping table where sorting rules are stored. • Patent number: 7441948
Abstract: A sensor for measuring a physical parameter of a fluid, in particular for measuring total air temperature, the sensor comprising: a fluid intake (1) fitted to a streamlined body (2); a duct provided in said streamlined body (2) to enable fluid flow, said duct communicating with said fluid intake; and a sensing element disposed inside said duct. The sensor is characterized in that it includes elements that give it improved measurement performance. In particular, the proposed air intake presents an inlet section which extends so as to define a sliding surface suitable for eliminating ice. The invention also provides an improved system for sucking in the boundary layer by using slots, and it also provides a ceramic sensing element that provides better thermal decoupling relative to the de-iced body.

  • Publication number: 20070263782
Abstract: An apparatus or corresponding method of managing Plain Old Telephone Service (POTS) lines in a Passive Optical Network (PON) to prevent an alarm system from generating an alarm during a software upgrade or maintenance of an Optical Network Terminal (ONT), Optical Line Terminal (OLT), or PON while maintaining the effectiveness of the alarm system. The ONT may store data related to a POTS line in nonvolatile memory. The ONT may activate the POTS line based on the data from the nonvolatile memory in an event of interruption in communications with an OLT prior to reestablishing communications with the OLT. The interruption in communications may be caused by an ONT reboot to complete an installation of a software upgrade. The ONT may energize the POTS line with a voltage in response to activating the POTS line to prevent the alarm system from generating the alarm.

  • Publication number: 20070204309
Abstract: When an optical network terminal (ONT) is rebooted, for example, after being upgraded, the ONT may be not be ranged and provisioned for some time. This may disrupt services, such as video services provided to a customer. As such, a method and corresponding apparatus of ensuring continuous receipt of video services based on certain conditions in a passive optical network (PON) are provided. The method may include detecting at a PON element a condition indicating a change of states in receipt of video services, starting a timing mechanism having a default value stored in the PON element, and enabling receipt of video services at the PON element for an amount of time defined by the default value. Receipt of video services is enabled by maintaining a configuration for video services previously provisioned and re-provisioning the PON element with the maintained configuration. In this way, disruption to video services is reduced.

  • Publication number: 20050163504
Abstract: Networks and networks for performance monitoring (PM) in a passive optical network, which contain at least one optical line terminator (OLT) and at least one optical network terminal (ONT), provide increased PM flexibility over traditional ONT management and control interface functionality. These networks and networks include setting a PM initialization time at the ONT, maintaining a base PM time at the ONT, zeroing an interval end time counter at the ONT and collecting a first set of PM data in PM bins for a specified PM time interval. The interval end time counter can sequentially increment after completing collection the first set of PM data. Once collection of the first set of PM data is complete and the interval end time counter has been incremented, these networks and networks can collect more sets of PM data in other PM bins for the PM time interval. Once PM data are collected, the OLT can retrieve the PM initialization time and the base PM time from the ONT, as well as the PM data from the PM bins.
