  • Publication number: 20110098090
Abstract: The present invention concerns the field of individual biological protection devices against emissions of electromagnetic pollution, more particularly a biological protection device against the electromagnetic waves emitted by a mobile telephone. The device includes a frame (3) and a screen (4) made at least in part from a highly-conducting metallic material, with the screen having dimensions that are sufficient to cover the internal perimeter of the frame (3), the screen (4) and the frame (3) forming a protective element (1) that is open and proof against the electromagnetic waves, when the screen is covering the frame. The mobile telephone (2) is held within the depth of the protective element so that the screen is located facing the ergonomic interface (21) of the mobile telephone with an electrically insulating space with a thickness of at least 2 mm between the metallic part of protective element and the mobile telephone.

  • Publication number: 20100197369
Abstract: This present invention concerns the field of individual biological protection devices against harmful electromagnetic emissions, and more particularly a device providing biological protection against the electromagnetic waves emitted by a mobile telephone. This objective is met by a protective element (1) that is proof against electromagnetic waves, arranged so that, whenever so desired, the user is able to protect himself or herself from the electromagnetic waves emitted by the mobile telephone (2) during its use, with the protective element (1) reflecting these signals in the direction away from the user. Several embodiments are proposed, thus bringing the device within the reach of everyone. The effectiveness of this device has been confirmed by a scientific study which shows that attenuation of the power of the electromagnetic waves associated with the use of the mobile telephone (2) in the direction of the user exceeds 10 decibels.

  • Publication number: 20040144283
Abstract: A side suspension system for mounting guide wheels to a monorail frame. The side suspension system includes a supporting member and a pivot assembly. The supporting member itself includes at least one wheel attachment site and at least one frame attachment site. The wheel attachment site of the supporting member is adapted to receive a guide wheel, and defines a first axis of rotation about which rotates the guide wheel. The pivot assembly is adapted to engage the supporting member at the frame attachment site, and is operative to pivotably mount the supporting member to the monorail frame. The pivot assembly defines a second axis of rotation about which pivots the supporting member, the second axis of rotation being substantially parallel to the first axis of rotation. The pivot assembly may include first and second adjustment mechanisms which, when the supporting member is mounted to the monorail frame, allow for the adjustment of first and second alignment parameters, respectively, of the guide wheels.

  • Patent number: 5195438
Abstract: A height compensation device for a railway truck having at least two pairs of rail engaging support wheels. The height compensation device is secured at opposed ends of a truck bolster and compensates for car body height loss after the wheels are re-profiled. The compensation device comprises a bearing element having a top support surface on which the car body rests. A displaceable height adjustment plate having one or more shim sections of different thicknesses is provided with one of the sections being disposed between the bearing element and the truck bolster by lifting the car body off the bearing element whereby to dispose the top support surface of the bearing element at a predetermined desired height above the truck bolster to maintain the car body at a substantially constant height from track level after wheel profiling.
