Patent number: 12239508Abstract: An implant that may maintain position with a Eustachian tube of a patient, the implant includes an engagement body, an anchoring assembly, and a pressure balance assembly. The engagement body includes an exterior surface dimensioned to bear radially outward against the Eustachian tube. The anchoring assembly may lock the implant in the Eustachian tube. The pressure balance assembly includes a vented pathway that may transition between an occluded state and a vented state. The vented pathway may provide fluid communication between the proximal end and the distal end of the implant in the ventilated state while inhibiting fluid communication between the proximal end and the distal end of the implant in the occluded state.Type: GrantFiled: February 22, 2023Date of Patent: March 4, 2025Assignee: Acclarent, Inc.Inventors: Jetmir Palushi, Fatemeh Akbarian, John H. Publication number: 20250069334Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure are directed to providing assisted scene capture for an artificial reality (XR) environment. Some implementations can obtain an XR space model corresponding to a real-world space, including walls, the ceiling, and the floor, using an XR system. Some implementations can then scan the real-world space and display a mesh corresponding to the scanned area overlaid onto a view of the real-world space. Some implementations can perform post-processing on the displayed mesh, which can include A) collapsing variations in the mesh corresponding to the walls, ceiling, or floor onto the XR space model; B) clipping the mesh to the XR space model for open doorways, windows, etc.; C) simplifying the mesh corresponding to the walls, ceiling, or floor; D) determining that the mesh is complete by identifying that a threshold percentage of the XR space model is covered by the mesh; or any combination thereof.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 23, 2023Publication date: February 27, 2025Inventors: Sony NGUYEN, Justin STRAWN, Eric LEUNG, Marc KREJCI, Benjamin XU, Samuel MCGAREY, Muqing NIU, Sierra DEAN, Jianhan XU, Ran ZHANG, Lu ZHOU, Audrey Muller, Matthew Banks, Sabrina Zhai

Patent number: 11696775Abstract: A method includes inserting a first dilation catheter into a first nostril of a patient. A first dilator of the first dilation catheter is positioned between the nasal septum of the patient and the turbinate of the patient. The first dilator is expanded, thereby remodeling one or more of the nasal septum, the turbinate, or mucosal tissue of the patient. The first dilation catheter is removed from the nostril of the patient. A second dilation catheter may be inserted into a second nostril of the patient. A dilator of the second dilation catheter may provide an opposing force on the nasal septum to prevent over-medialization of the nasal septum.Type: GrantFiled: April 29, 2019Date of Patent: July 11, 2023Assignee: Acclarent, Inc.Inventors: Jetmir Palushi, Fatemeh Akbarian, Athanasios Papadakis, Ehsan Shameli, William J. Patent number: 11602619Abstract: An apparatus may be used with an elongate member that includes an engagement member, a hollow shaft, a compression member, a compression element, and a resilient gripping member. The hollow shaft extends from the engagement member along a longitudinal axis. The compression member is slidably disposed over the hollow shaft. The hollow shaft is disposed over the resilient gripping member and supports the compression element. The compression member has a conical inner surface including a detent feature. The conical inner surface is configured to urge the compression element radially inwards as the collar advances from the unlocked position toward the locked position where the detent feature retains the compression element. The compression element deforms the resilient gripping member radially inwards to grip the elongate member and prevents translation of the elongate member. When unlocked, the resilient gripping member moves radially away from the elongate member allowing translation.Type: GrantFiled: August 30, 2019Date of Patent: March 14, 2023Assignees: Biosense Webster (Israel) Ltd., Acclarent, Inc.Inventors: Henry F. Publication number: 20220370197Abstract: A method is used to insert an implant within a lateral wall of a nose of a patient. The method includes forming an initial incision with a surface of the lateral wall of the nose. A stylet is advanced within the lateral wall of the nose, thereby creating a pocket within the lateral wall of the nose. The stylet is further advanced until an expanding body of the stylet is at least partially housed within the pocket of the lateral wall. The expanding body of the stylet is enlarged to thereby enlarge the pocket within the lateral wall. The implant is placed within the enlarged pocket of the lateral wall.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 27, 2022Publication date: November 24, 2022Inventors: Jetmir Palushi, Alison D. Wright, Marc Dean
