Abstract: A device for environmental protection of an electrical component on a mount, e.g. a circuit board, includes: a first housing part; a second housing part which together with the first housing part provides a substantially closed housing; a mount (e.g. a circuit board) for an electrical component that may be movably secured with respect to the first housing part; and a sealing material positioned between the mount and a surface of the first housing part; such that the mount can be moved with respect to the first housing part to put the sealing material under compression. The device can also include a maintenance termination unit for a telecommunications network.

Abstract: A toggle latch for releasably fastening and tensioning a closure band said latch comprising, a first member (20) for connection to an end of said band, a second member (22) for connection with the other end of said band, a lever (24) hingedly connected adjacent a proximal end with said second member (22) and a link member (27) hingedly interconnecting said first member (20) and said lever (24) and being joined to said lever (24) at a point spaced apart from said proximal end, said lever being movable between a first open position in which the extent of said lever (24) diverges from said band and a second closed position in which said lever (24) and link member (27) nestably overlay said first and second members (20, 22) to draw said first member (20) toward said second member (22).

Abstract: A cable connector housing (11) for surrounding and sealing a coaxial cable connection, the housing (11) comprising two elongate body portions (12) (13) that surround the cable (51) and connector (52). One end of the housing (11) has a smaller part or opening (14) for accommodating the cable and the other end of the housing has a larger opening (15) for accommodating a connector. The one end of the housing (11) is shaped preferably frusto-conically, to force sealing gel within the housing (11) towards the other end of the housing when the two body portions are assembled around the connection.

Abstract: A cable enclosure having a housing and a strain-relief device. The housing has an inlet for a cable, and the strain-relief device can be connected to the cable and the housing in a strain-relieving fashion. The strain-relief device can be connected to the housing after the strain-relief device has been secured to the cable and after the housing has been sealed around the cable.

Abstract: A sealing apparatus for sealing an end of an enclosure having an opening for passing an elongate object, such as a cable, therethrough is disclosed. The sealing apparatus includes a sealing device with a port through the sealing device. The sealing device is configured so as to be placed within an end of the enclosure and in sealing engagement with an inner surface of the enclosure. An adaptor is further disclosed which is configured to be inserted within the port of the sealing device. An opening is provided in the adaptor for receiving the elongate object to be passed into the enclosure. The adaptor further includes a first compressing part and a second compressing part longitudinally offset from the first compressing part with a sealant disposed between the compressing parts. A driver in the sealing device is operatively connected to the compressing parts to position the compressing parts in longitudinally movable positions relative to each other.

Abstract: A device for sealing an article, which comprises:(i) a sealing material;(ii) a resilient member that can be biased to apply compression to the sealing material to cause it to seal the article; and(iii) stop means for limiting said biasing of the resilient member at a configuration thereof in which said biasing can be increased by movement of the sealing material.
