  • Patent number: 12276590
Abstract: In some aspects, a device may receive measurement data associated with a measurement subject. The device may determine an adsorption isotherm for the measurement subject based on the measurement data. The device may determine a thermodynamic adsorption capacity of the measurement subject based on the adsorption isotherm. The device may determine a surface area value associated with the measurement subject based on the thermodynamic adsorption capacity. The device may provide an output based on the adsorption capacity or the surface area value associated with the measurement subject.

  • Patent number: 12151036
Abstract: An electrification system is used to prevent the transmission of pathogens by dermal contact. The electrification system includes a skin-bracing object, a power supply, and at least one resistor. The skin-bracing object includes an object body and a conductive feature. The skin-bracing object is an object that regularly comes into physical contact with a user's skin. The object body is the structure of the skin-bracing object and can be, but is not limited to, a pillowcase, a bed sheet, a bed pad, a blanket, a piece of medical gauze, a face mask, a set of medical scrubs, or a food preparation surface. The power supply, the resistor, and the conductive feature are electrically connected in series to each other. Thus, the conductive feature carrier an electrical current to electrify pathogens that come into physical contact with the conductive feature.

  • Publication number: 20240016196
Abstract: The present disclosure is related to adhesive composite films which may be used to attach to food materials, and potentially form unions between food materials. These adhesive composite films generally comprise a backbone layer having one or more adhesive layers disposed thereon. They may be used to join many food-based materials often used as external barriers in foodstuffs such as tortillas, gyros, and pitas.

  • Publication number: 20150252285
Abstract: The present invention provides novel methods for extraction of lipids from intact or lysed microorganisms in aqueous culture using a partially water soluble cosolvent with, or without a second organic solvent, and/or pressurized CO2 in the extraction methods. Such a process can also be implemented at a much larger industrial scale, where the economics of scale based capital expenditures costs distributed over much higher volume production as well as increased equipment efficiency would significantly improve production rates and lower costs.
