  • Publication number: 20230358904
Abstract: Systems and methods for improving radiographic scanning. In an example, the technology relates to a system for performing radiographic scanning. The system includes a photon source configured to emit photons. The system also includes a photon counting detector for detecting photons emitted from the photon source after passing through a target. The photon counting detector comprising first pixels having a first size and second pixels having a second size, and the first size is greater than the second size.

  • Publication number: 20230218251
Abstract: A mini C-arm with a movable X-ray source is disclosed. The mini C-arm including a moveable base, a C-arm assembly, and an arm assembly for coupling the C-arm assembly and the base. The C-arm assembly includes a first end, a second end, and a curved intermediate body portion defining an arc length. The source is positioned adjacent to the first end. A detector is positioned at the second end. The source is moveable along the arc length and relative to the detector to enable a plurality of images of the patient's anatomy to be acquired including a first image when the X-ray source is at a first position and a second image when the X-ray source is at a second position. The images being taken without moving the patient's anatomy. The C-arm assembly may include a motor and a belt drive system for moving the source relative to the detector.

  • Patent number: 9823366
Abstract: Among other things, one or more systems and/or techniques for calibrating a direct conversion detector array are provided. An electrical charge is generated on an interface of a photoconductor (e.g., amorphous selenium) of the detector array when there is a change in voltage that is applied to the photoconductor. Such a change in voltage may occur because the voltage that is supplied to the photoconductor by a power supply is changed. The changed voltage causes an electrical charge to be produced, or causes a change in the net charge density at an interface of the photoconductor, that is substantially similar to the electrical charge that may be produced when radiation impinges the detector array. In this way, calibrations of the detector array (e.g., the generation of a uniformity map, defect table, etc.) may be performed without the emission of radiation and onsite or outside of a factory setting.

  • Publication number: 20100104166
Abstract: In a method for producing a stereotactic image of a patient fixed in a mammography device for a biopsy, a computerized control and evaluation unit waits for a start signal to be given by an operator, and after receipt of the start signal, automatically implements the following steps. An x-ray apparatus of the mammography device is positioned in a first predetermined imaging position, and a first image of the patient is acquired with the x-ray apparatus in this position. The x-ray apparatus is then pivoted into a second imaging position, different from the first, and a second image of the patient is acquired at the second position. The first and second images are acquired to form a stereotactic image of the patient.
