Patent number: 7923668Abstract: An engine nacelle inlet lip includes both acoustic treatment and electric heating for ice protection. The inlet lip has a composite outer skin and a composite inner skin, with the composite outer skin having at least one integrated heater element embedded in the composite material. An acoustic cellular core positioned between the outer and inner skin acts to attenuate fan noise from the engine. Covering the outer skin and overlying the acoustic core is a perforated erosion shield having a first set of openings that pass entirely thorough its thickness. The composite outer skin includes a second set of openings such that sound waves can pass from an inner barrel portion of the inlet lip through the erosion shield, outer skin, and heater element to the underlying acoustic cellular core.Type: GrantFiled: April 10, 2007Date of Patent: April 12, 2011Assignee: Rohr, Inc.Inventors: Michael John Layland, Keith Towers Brown, Claude Marc Hubert, Daniel P. Publication number: 20040242158Abstract: The process consists of selecting a sub-set of interfering cells and a sub-set of interfered cells among a set of a radio cells in a network, fixing a plurality of calculation parameters such as threshold levels for signal/interference ratios, parameters related to the power of interfering cells and the traffic channel, then determining the service area of the interfered cells and the area including inter-cell overlaps, then calculating the attenuation of the interfering cell and the attenuation of the serving interfered cell respectively, at each point or pixel in the overlap area. An estimate of the signal/interference ratio is made for each pixel starting from attenuations and parameters. The invention is used to isolate and identify interfering cells and interfered cells. The power in the interfering cells generating an excessive disturbance can thus be adjusted.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 31, 2004Publication date: December 2, 2004Inventors: Imad Fattouch, Jean-Marc Hubert, Francois Vincent
