Patent number: 11604679Abstract: A system for dynamic job shifting includes an interface and a processor. The interface is configured to receive a job request to perform a job. The processor is configured to monitor available resources for performing the job. The available resources include a set of vehicle carried systems accessible to a vehicle event recorder via a communication link. The vehicle event recorder is coupled to a vehicle. The processor is further configured to determine a vehicle carried system of the set of vehicle carried systems for performing the job; provide the job to the vehicle carried system, where the job is configured to create one or more checkpoint data files; and receive an indication of creation of a checkpoint data file of the one or more checkpoint data files.Type: GrantFiled: September 9, 2020Date of Patent: March 14, 2023Assignee: Lytx, Inc.Inventors: Jeremiah Todd Wittevrongel, Marc Ische, Daniel Lambert, Stephen Krotosky

Patent number: 8917206Abstract: Apparatus and methods for performing mobile-based positioning in a wireless communications system are presented. A position estimate is computed based on assistance data intended for a first position method. The mobile device ignores if a second positioning method is not specifically supported by a network and computes a position estimate using the second position method and a subset of assistance data intended for the first positioning method, which is supported by the network and is different from the second positioning method.Type: GrantFiled: June 8, 2010Date of Patent: December 23, 2014Assignee: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventors: Stephen W. Edge, Parag Arun Agashe, Sven Fischer, Marc A. Ische, Nathan Edward Tenny

Patent number: 8792903Abstract: The subject matter disclosed herein relates to determining a location of a mobile device using an estimated trajectory of motion of the mobile device, and in particular, using a comparison of the estimated trajectory with one or more predetermined candidate trajectories.Type: GrantFiled: January 18, 2010Date of Patent: July 29, 2014Assignee: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventors: Marc A. Ische, Leonid Sheynblat, Douglas Neal Rowitch

Patent number: 8700049Abstract: The subject matter disclosed herein relates to a system and method for reducing an initial position uncertainty of a mobile station. In one example, although claimed subject matter is not so limited, a process to improve an initial position estimate comprises identifying the locations of a serving cell and at least one other landmark proximate to a receiver and determining an initial estimate of the location of the receiver based, at least in part, on the identified locations of the serving cell and the at least one other landmark.Type: GrantFiled: April 18, 2008Date of Patent: April 15, 2014Assignee: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventors: Marc Ische, Lalitaprasad V. Daita, Thomas K. Rowland

Patent number: 8620306Abstract: A position location system, method, and apparatus are disclosed. A wireless device receives a first signal and obtains an identifier indicative of a first location from the first signal. The first signal can be received from a cellular base station and the first identifier can be a mobile country code. The wireless device uses the identifier to determine the availability of signals from a regional satellite system at the first location. If signals from the regional satellite system are available at the first location, the wireless device retrieves information associated with one or more satellite vehicles in the regional satellite system. The information can include pseudo-random number codes and a Doppler search range corresponding to the first location. The wireless device receives a second signal and processes the second signal to obtain first satellite signal information. The wireless device determines its position at least partially based on the first satellite signal information.Type: GrantFiled: June 24, 2008Date of Patent: December 31, 2013Assignee: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventors: Rayman Wai Pon, Marc Ische, Borislav Ristic, Jie Wu

Patent number: 8259010Abstract: A position determining system (PDS) receiver gathers independent location information from multiple sources. These multiple pieces of location information are analyzed to determine consistency of location. If the location is consistent among the various independently gathered location information, then the location information is injected into the PDS positioning process for more efficient acquisition and positioning. Otherwise, if inconsistency is found, then no location information is injected into the PDS positioning process.Type: GrantFiled: May 24, 2010Date of Patent: September 4, 2012Assignee: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventors: Marc A. Ische, Dominic Gerard Farmer, Ashok Bhatia, Arnold Jason Gum
