  • Patent number: 9614681
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for providing an electronic signature service where the content of an electronic document to be signed remains unknown to the service. A sender of the electronic document negotiates a specification for encoding the electronic document. In particular, the specification does not include any content of the electronic document. In this manner, the content of the electronic document can be encrypted and securely transmitted between the sender and the signer via the electronic signature service using one or more data packets conforming to the specification without permitting the electronic signature service to read or otherwise decipher the content. The specification enables the electronic signature service to certify that the signer has received the electronic document and assented to its terms.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 9, 2015
Date of Patent: April 4, 2017
    Assignee: Adobe Systems Incorporated
Inventors: Benjamin David Follis, Marc Kaufman

  • Publication number: 20150213568
Abstract: Techniques for generating a document according to location-specific and other requirements may be provided. For example, an electronic signature service may be executed by a computing device to provide a service for generating a document that meets various location-specific and other requirements. The documents may be associated with number of users. The electronic signature service may determine locations of the users and may determine applicable requirements based on the users and the locations. Further, the electronic signature service may modify the document and/or a workflow associated with the document to meet the applicable requirements.

  • Patent number: 8683605
Abstract: Long-Term Validation (LTV) of a digital signature status indicator is disclosed. In some embodiments, the Long-Term Validation of a digital signature status indicator includes automatically determining whether a digital signature of a digitally signed document is LTV enabled based at least in part on LTV information; and generating an LTV status indicator that displays whether the digital signature of the digitally signed document is LTV enabled.

  • Patent number: 5416978
Abstract: A marking device having a housing with a tape opening and a marker opening. A coiled tape is disposed within the housing such that the coiled tape may be extended or retracted through the tape opening. At least one linkage engaging aperture is secured to the coiled tape. A marking member is movably disposed within the housing and is adaptable to extend and retract within the marker opening. A linkage assembly is movably disposed within the housing such that when the linkage engaging aperture engages the linkage assembly, the linkage assembly engages and moves the marking member through the marker opening.
