Patent number: 11736414Abstract: An apparatus comprising a socket insert that is arranged in a receptacle of the apparatus. The socket insert is connected to an operating medium connector. In the receptacle a data interface is covered by the socket insert and inaccessible from outside. To obtain access to the apparatus software or data, the socket insert can be replaced by a service insert that covers the operating medium output but contacts the data plug. The service insert allows communication with the apparatus control to input or output data and/or programs. The arrangement of the service interface covered by socket inserts provides an effective means for access control to the service interface. It impedes or avoids non-authorized access to the interface and damages for persons and material that otherwise could occur due to the missing disruptive discharge proof potential separation between the service interface and particularly the power section of the apparatus control.Type: GrantFiled: June 26, 2020Date of Patent: August 22, 2023Assignee: ERBE ELEKTROMEDIZIN GMBHInventors: Juergen Hiller, Marc Kegreiss

Patent number: 10413348Abstract: An arrangement having a device for providing high-frequency voltage UApp for contact coagulation of the biological tissue. The device is equipped to operate with a high voltage that is normally not suitable for contact coagulation, but otherwise used for spark coagulation, for example, more than 400V at the beginning of the contact coagulation. During the operation of the generator the tissue impedance Z is monitored. This can occur by means of continuously measuring the voltage UApp of the flowing current IApp and the phasing ? between the voltage and the flowing current. Using both, the measuring unit continuously determines the tissue impedance Z. A minimum detector is provided to determine if an impedance minimum Zmin has passed through and if such is found, to induce the generator control to reduce the voltage UApp delivered by the device to a value that avoids spark generation as well as desiccation of the tissue.Type: GrantFiled: August 28, 2015Date of Patent: September 17, 2019Assignee: ERBE ELEKTROMEDIZIN GMBHInventors: Sandra Keller, Marc Kegreiss

Patent number: 10045810Abstract: An HF surgical appliance comprising an HF generator having an output circuit, which contains an output transformer and has an output impedance. Output terminals, to which an HF surgical instrument can be connected, are provided, said instrument supplying a high-frequency current with a specific frequency into tissue to treat the same. An additional output circuit containing an additional transformer, which is connected between the output circuit and the output terminals to reduce the output impedance is also provided. In this way, the HF surgical appliance can be operated with a high power output even on loads having low impedance.Type: GrantFiled: February 25, 2010Date of Patent: August 14, 2018Assignee: ERBE ELEKTROMEDIZIN GMBHInventors: Heiko Schall, Erich Werner, Marc Kegreiss, Jürgen Beller

Patent number: 9131953Abstract: A surgical instrument that comprises at least one microcontroller arranged in the handle of the instrument and that communicates with the surgical apparatus—without the interposition of a radio link via the cable that already exists between the surgical apparatus and the surgical instrument. Safe data transmission is ensured not only in the high-interference environment of an active RF surgical apparatus, but also in, for example, water jet, argon plasma and cryosurgical apparatuses, endoscopes. A differential transmission technique is selected, wherein one or more conductor pairs (insulated conductors) are utilized, one of the conductors of said conductor pairs transmitting the signal and the other transmitting the inverted signal. By subtracting the two signals, the actual data signal is yielded on the receiver side. If feedback interferences from the environment act on the data transmission link, the subtractions performed on the respective receivers cancels out the interferences.Type: GrantFiled: February 21, 2012Date of Patent: September 15, 2015Assignee: ERBE ELEKTROMEDIZIN GMBHInventors: Thomas Baur, Marc Kegreiss, Peter Selig

Publication number: 20120179072Abstract: A surgical device for the treatment of biological tissue has a surgical instrument with at least one HF electrode and an HF surgical unit with an HF generator for generating an HF voltage and supplying an HF current to the HF electrode, and a control device for open-loop or closed-loop control of the HF generator. The surgical instrument has a movement detection device to detect a movement sequence of the surgical instrument and the HF surgical unit has an evaluation device for evaluating a movement sequence detected by the detection device. The movement detection device and the evaluation device are connected to each other, movement sequences of the surgical instrument detected by the detection device can be transmitted to the evaluation device, and the HF surgical unit is configurable by an evaluation of the movement sequences of the surgical instrument by the evaluation device.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 22, 2010Publication date: July 12, 2012Inventor: Marc Kegreiss
