  • Patent number: 11821979
Abstract: A system to acquire and track vehicles travelling in airspace, sea and land via a constellation of satellites. The system includes: (a) means for detecting a first signal from a vehicle; (b) a process for detecting anomaly from the first signal and determining whether it occurs inside or outside a first radar mode coverage area; (c) means for detecting a second signal from the vehicle under a first radar mode if the anomaly occurs inside its coverage area; (d) means for detecting a third signal from the vehicle under a second radar mode if the anomaly occurs outside the first radar mode coverage area; and (e) means for (i) refining the second or third signal from the vehicle under a third radar mode, such that the first, second, third and fourth detecting means are sequentially activated to detect the first, second and third signals by each satellite.

  • Patent number: 8654002
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method for monitoring targets on a runway, wherein emitting modules and receiving modules are alternately distributed along each one of longitudinal sides of the runway. Orthogonal signals are emitted in a narrowband by the emitting modules and coherently received in a coherent manner by the receiving modules. An object is detected on the runway on the basis of a distribution of the modules into meshes each including three pairs of neighbouring emitting modules and receiving modules and on the basis of a radio location of the object through triangulation and interferometry in at least one mesh. The modules are also used for analyzing a target moving on the runway, and for monitoring the trajectographies of an air target in the surroundings of the runway.

  • Patent number: 6677900
Abstract: A system for detecting mobile bodies, using digital telebroadcasting transmissions of an array of terrestrial transmitters. The digital telebroadcast transmissions include a plurality of carriers, afforded symbol-based digital modulation, processed by carrier-wise orthogonal frequency multiplexing. After its reception stages, the receiver includes a processor for performing a discrimination of backscattering the transmissions, according to distance/Doppler bins. A reference pathway receives and demodulates the direct signal received from one of the transmitters. The processor includes a Doppler distribution, the Doppler pathways of which are each assigned to a respective frequency shift, then a distance compressor that yields samples arranged in the distance/Doppler bins. After coherent Doppler integration, a postprocessing with tracking contrasts the echoes obtained in these bins, to obtain radar plots containing position/velocity information on one or more objects.
