Abstract: A hand truck for transporting articles, such as cases of beverages, is disclosed. The hand truck has a frame having a plurality of wheels attached thereto and an electrically powered lift member attached to the frame. The frame includes a pair of side frame members. Each of the side frame members has a guide mechanism for maintaining the lift member in a level condition as the lift member moves up and down relative to the frame. The lift member rides on a pair of rotating screw members driven by at least one electric motor via a sprocket gear and chain drive system.
