  • Publication number: 20070082772
Abstract: A people mover, such as a travelator, moving ramp or escalator, comprises a conveyor. The conveyor comprises a frame having a first frame part secured to a fixed structure, and a second frame part mounted to be movable in relation to the first frame part in the longitudinal direction. The first and second frame parts are arranged one after the other. Transport platforms are secured to a first drive element and a second drive element. The drive elements are endless elements. A first tensioning device tensions the first drive element and a second tensioning device tensions the second drive element. Each tensioning device acts between the first frame part and the second frame part. The conveyor additionally comprises mechanical transmission elements between the first and second tensioning devices for keeping the stroke lengths of the first and the second tensioning movements equal.

  • Publication number: 20070039803
Abstract: A travelator, moving ramp or escalator comprises a power machine and a conveyor having a driven end driven by the power machine and a non-driven end. The conveyor comprises a first and second drive elements which are at a distance from each other and parallel to each other, each being formed as an endless loop. A number of transport platforms are arranged one after the other and secured to the first and second drive elements. At the driven end, the first drive element is passed over a first driving pulley which is rotated by the power machine, and at the non-driven end the first drive element is passed over a first diverting pulley. The second drive element is passed over a second driving pulley at the driven end which is rotated by the power machine, and over a second diverting pulley at the non-driven end. A first synchronizing device is placed at the driven end for mutual synchronization of the first and second driving pulleys.

  • Publication number: 20070036626
Abstract: A pallet arrangement for a people mover includes a plurality of pallets arranged one after the other to form a track. Each pallet comprises a pallet body, at least one surfacing element attached to the pallet body and a fastening mechanism to attach the at least one surfacing element to the pallet body. The fastening mechanism comprises at least one coupling element included in each surfacing element of the pallet, a form-locking groove included in the pallet body of the pallet and a locking element performing a locking operation with a locking movement and a releasing operation with a releasing movement. The locking element acts on all the coupling elements in the form-locking groove of the pallet body substantially simultaneously during the locking movement and the releasing movement.
