  • Patent number: 5061023
Abstract: A telephone terminal base for vertical mounting and with a front closure that is movable about a horizontal hinge axis to open and close the base. The hinge structure is formed by cooperable hinge parts on front and rear closures, the hinge parts slidable one upon the other along an arc of a circle centered upon the hinge axis. The hinge axis is positioned forwardly of the base and with the hinge parts spaced from the hinge axis, they are disposed entirely within the base. The front closure is preferably hinged to move downwardly from a vertical closed position.

  • Patent number: 5014959
Abstract: A closure, particularly, a telephone closure base with two closure members and a movable shear locking member. In a closed condition of the closure, aligned apertures of the two closure members may receive the locking member to hold the assembly closed. A part of one of the closure members having the aperture is flexible and tensile and has a flexure position such that, when an opening force is applied to the assembly with the locking member extending through the apertures, the flexible part is flexed under tension and is urged against an opposing surface of the other closure member formed with the corresponding aperture. This flexing action places the locking member mainly in shear while minimizing any bending forces upon the locking member.

  • Patent number: 4939861
Abstract: A shelf tag moulding attachment assembly is provided for securing a product information module to a standard shelf tag moulding in a manner as to inhibit unauthorized removal, while permitting easy removal by authorized personnel through use of a grasping device. The assembly preferably includes a mounting member having projections disposed at one end for effecting biting engagement with one of the tag moulding lips, and a lever arm rotatably coupled to the mounting member having a cam at one end disposed to controllably engage the other lip of the tag moulding. The assembly is demountably secured to the tag moulding when the lever arm is rotated with respect to the mounting member.

  • Patent number: 4862497
Abstract: A hybrid alphanumeric directory comprises a portable notebook containing a plurality of loosely bound pages, each of which has several writing areas where alphanumeric information can be entered. The writing areas are on each page in the same relative position. When the notebook is placed on the receiving surface of an electronic unit, an arrangement is provided to determine which page is open and this automatically associates the push-buttons with the respective writing areas of the open page. Data associated with the writing areas are electronically stored. When a push-button beside a writing area of an open page is depressed, an operation associated with the stored data pertaining to that writing area is automatically initiated. The directory is particularly useful as a telephone directory, in which case the data are stored telephone numbers. Depression of one of the push-buttons causes the stored telephone number to be automatically dialed.
