  • Publication number: 20190310117
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for velocity scanning in, e.g., bodies of water. In one embodiment, a scanned one-dimensional transducer array Doppler sonar arrangement is used to remotely measure both vertical and horizontal profiles of a river or channel along-stream water velocities within a cross-section of the river/channel from a single side-mounted sonar.
    Type: Application
    Filed: April 15, 2019
    Publication date: October 10, 2019

  • Publication number: 20150049590
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for creating transmit and/or receive beams within a fluidic medium. In one aspect, a series of sub-arrays are used to create a larger array capable of forming multiple transmit/receive beams. In one embodiment, a single sided electrode is disclosed, which provides among other things a technological alternative to prior art 2-dimensional array technologies for the purpose of producing multiple beams for applications such as Acoustic Doppler Current Profiling sonars or other 2D array sonar applications. In another embodiment, a dual-sided approach is used which advantageously requires reduced drive voltage(s) for the same output power.

  • Patent number: 4209054
Abstract: An apparatus for removing tires from heavy vehicle wheel rims having an integral sealing lip on one side and a removable sealing ring secured in place by a locking ring on the other, is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a frame, a support member mounted on the frame and adapted to engage the inside diameter of the rim to support the wheel, a movable member located on the axis of the support member and adapted to contact the sealing ring and move it inwardly, so as to free the locking ring, thereby permitting removal of the locking ring and the subsequent removal of the sealing ring, and means for moving the movable member toward the support member.

  • Patent number: 4103958
Abstract: A vehicle body particularly conceived to constitute a bus body including a second floor, a collapsible roof, and collapsible side walls, and characterized by producing a livable space above the second floor upon lifting of the roof relative to the second floor to thus provide camping accommodation for a relatively larger number of persons than heretofore. This camping vehicle body includes collapsible side walls, made of flexible sheet material, and elastic bands attached to the flexible sheet material at points to bias the latter, such as to produce automatic folding thereof upon lowering of the roof. The roof is elevated by hydraulic cylinders with an intercoupling system connected to the hydraulic cylinders and producing concerted elevation and lowering of the roof.
