  • Patent number: 12689318
Abstract: A power electronic circuit includes a topological switch having at least two power semiconductors connected in parallel, a driver configured to drive the power semiconductors, a gate resistor between the driver and the power semiconductors, a monitoring device to detect a voltage drop between two load terminals of the topological switch and output it as a signal, and a comparison device arranged between the driver and the gate resistor and configured to compare the signal output from the monitoring device with a current signal output from the driver, wherein, in the event that the detected difference exceeds a predetermined threshold value and a signal is additionally output by the driver instructing that the power semiconductors should not be conductive, the monitoring device outputs an emergency signal to the driver, which is configured to then output a signal to the power semiconductors to put them into a safety state.

  • Publication number: 20240322730
Abstract: A power supply system for a power electronic circuit of an electric vehicle includes a driver board with components configured to activate the power electronic circuit, a monitoring device configured to monitor the supply voltage, and a circuit assembly having a switching element arranged between an accumulator or a phase of the electric motor and the driver board so that the switching element provides a power supply from the accumulator or electric motor for components of the driver board. When the monitoring device detects a failure or reduction in the supply voltage of a component of the driver board, the monitoring device transfers the switching element from an open state to a closed state, for which the supply voltage has failed or collapsed.

  • Publication number: 20240213763
Abstract: A switch device includes a switch unit which has first and second connections, a control connection, and multiple switches connected between the first and second connection and which are jointly activated or activatable by the control connection. A method comprises reading a measurement signal via an interface into a measuring unit, wherein the measurement signal represents an actual parameter of the switch unit, determining a fault state of the switch unit if the actual parameter is in a predetermined relationship with a predefined target parameter, and providing a fault protection signal in response to the determined fault state, wherein the fault protection signal is configured to activate at least one fault protection switch and thereby apply a protection signal to the control connection, by which the switches are closed or kept closed.

  • Publication number: 20240146181
Abstract: A method for driving two mutually complementary topological switches of a half-bridge in a power module of an inverter includes detecting a bridge short circuit at one of the topological switches, de-energizing the topological switch complementary to the topological switch at which the bridge short circuit was detected, and, temporally switching off the short-circuit current in the topological switch at which the bridge short circuit was detected.
