Abstract: Disclosed herein are compositions, methods, vectors, and kits comprising an antagonist of a truncated TrkC or a truncated TrkB. Also described herein are methods of diagnosing, treating and/or preventing a neurodegenerative disease or condition or a symptomatic or pre-symptomatic condition with alterations to synapses associated with an elevated expression level of a truncated TrkC or truncated TrkB isoform.
