    Abstract: A device (2) for generating a vacuum for vacuum therapy of wounds has a facility for generating a vacuum and a vessel (10) for receiving wound exudates suctioned out of a wound. The vessel (10) can be detachably fastened to the device. A connection (12) is provided for a suction tube, the suction tube leading to the body to establish vacuum communication among the facility generating the vacuum, the vessel (10) and the suction tube. A holding facility (102) provides for detachable fastening of the device (2) onto a strut or bar and comprises an essentially rigid holding part (104), which can be attached to a housing (4) of the device and which has a receptacle (106) for detachable disposition of a flexible holding strap (108). The holding strap (108) can be wrapped around the strut or bar through application of a tensile force.
