  • Publication number: 20250377029
Abstract: An apparatus for a brake drum having a drum brake assembly with first and second brake shoes includes a motor and a planetary gear train for receiving torque from the motor and having an output gear. A ball ramp assembly receives torque from the output gear and has ends aligned with the respective first and second brake shoes. The motor is actuatable for lengthening the ball ramp assembly to move the brake shoes and apply braking force to the brake drum. A bi-stable locking mechanism selectively locks the planetary gear train to apply a parking brake to the brake drum.

  • Publication number: 20250376141
Abstract: An apparatus for a drum brake assembly having first and second brake shoes includes a motor and a gear train for receiving torque from the motor and having a pinion gear. First and second ball ramp assemblies receive torque from the pinion gear and have ends aligned with the respective first and second brake shoes. The motor is actuatable for lengthening each ball ramp assembly to move the brake shoes and apply braking force to the brake drum.

  • Publication number: 20250376140
Abstract: An apparatus for a brake drum of a vehicle having a drum brake assembly with first and second brake shoes includes a motor with a pinion gear. A ball screw assembly has a nut for receiving torque from the pinion gear and a spindle threaded with the nut. The nut is aligned with the first brake shoe and the spindle is aligned with the second brake shoe. The motor is actuatable for rotating the nut to move the nut and the spindle away from one another for moving the brake shoes to apply braking force to the brake drum during a braking event. A bi-stable locking mechanism selectively locks the motor to prevent torque transfer from a back-driving ball screw assembly to the motor.

  • Patent number: 11603062
Abstract: A protection system for a motor vehicle having a sensor for determining an angle of inclination of the motor vehicle about its longitudinal axis. An airbag attached on an outside of the motor vehicle. A processing device designed to detect a risk that the motor vehicle may tip over, on the basis of the inclination angle determined, and in that case activates the airbag. The airbag can be pivoted in the vertical direction from an area close to the ground.

  • Patent number: 11585432
Abstract: An oil supply arrangement of a vehicle with an electric machine in a housing with at least one oil volume connected to an oil volume of a transmission housing of the vehicle for oil supply. The oil volume of the electric machine is divided into at least two oil supply spaces to compensate an oil level in the housing. A first oil supply space is arranged at a side of the housing facing the driving direction of the vehicle and a second oil supply space is arranged at a side of the housing opposite the driving direction of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 11486468
Abstract: A gearwheel for a gear system for a planetary gear system of a chassis assistance system. The gearwheel is divided into at least a first spur gear and a second spur gear which are spaced apart from one another along a common rotational axis. The gearwheel has, in addition, an open spring ring with a first end, which is supported in a circumferential direction against the first spur gear, and a second end, which is supported in the direction opposite to the circumferential direction against the second spur gear in such manner that by rotating the spur gears, relative to one another about the common rotational axis, the spring ring can be stressed in order to exert a restoring torque on the spur gears. A recess is formed on at least one of the spur gears for holding part of the spring ring.
