  • Patent number: 10961049
Abstract: A trolley system for collecting and compacting rubbish in a vehicle has a trolley housing with two chambers formed therein with respective housing openings and a rubbish compacting device. The first and second chambers, and the first and second housing openings are arranged concentrically along a main direction of extent of the housing upper side or of the housing base. The openings are arranged above the second chamber. A sliding surface is arranged below the first opening and extends from an edge of the first opening, which edge is directed towards the second opening, to an edge of the first chamber, which edge is directed towards the second chamber. The compacting device arranged above the first chamber is designed to move a pressing plate between a starting position close to the housing upper side to a position lowered in the direction of the housing base to compact rubbish within the first chamber.

  • Patent number: 10940947
Abstract: A waste compaction system includes a trolley for collecting waste and a docking station that is integratable into a cabin monument of a vehicle. The trolley includes a housing with chambers for waste, an opening for introducing waste, a vacuum compaction mechanism assigned to a chamber, and a suction port accessible from outside the housing and couplable to the compaction mechanism. The compaction mechanism includes a compaction sheath extending from a bottom of the housing to a frame arranged opposite the bottom, and is fillable through the opening, and a rigid plate is arranged on or in at least one lateral surface of the compaction sheath and moves together with the compaction sheath during the evacuation thereof. The docking station and the trolley mate with each other. The docking station includes another suction port that is couplable to a suction line in the vehicle and the first suction port.

  • Patent number: 10940946
Abstract: A system for disposing waste in a transportation system includes a collection device for collecting waste in the cabin of the transportation system, a separate receptacle device for receiving collected waste from the collection device, and a connection device for selectively connecting the collection device to the receptacle device in order to deliver collected waste from the collection device into the receptacle device. The receptacle device is arranged in a lower deck region underneath the cabin floor. The connection device extends into the receptacle device from the cabin floor and includes a closure that is arranged on or in the cabin floor. The collection device is mechanically couplable to the connection device, and includes a closable output opening aligned with the closure of the connection device in the coupled state. The closure and/or the output opening can only be opened when the collection device is coupled to the receptacle device.

  • Patent number: 10899098
Abstract: A system for compacting waste includes a trolley and a cabin monument. The trolley or the cabin monument has a compacting device. The compacting device includes a cover with a bellows that is arranged on the lower face of the cover and is designed to be movable between a folded-together position, in which the bellows interior has a first volume, and an unfolded position, in which the bellows interior has an enlarged second volume. By suctioning fluid from a container interior formed in the trolley by means of a first cover channel arranged in the cover of the trolley, the bellows can be moved into the unfolded position such that the bellows protrudes far enough into the container interior that the waste container and/or waste in the waste container is compacted.

  • Patent number: 10843430
Abstract: A system includes a vehicle monument, a hose with a fluid line, and an adapter with a triggering unit and a housing, which has a fluid connection. The fluid connection couples to a fluid mating connection, wherein the monument has a fluid main valve and a control unit for controlling the fluid main valve, an inlet of the fluid main valve couples to a fluid suction source, and a first end of the hose connects to the monument such that a first end of the fluid line is coupled to a first outlet of the fluid main valve. A second end of the hose is connected to the adapter such that a second end of the fluid line is coupled to the fluid connection, and the control unit controls the fluid main valve based on a triggering signal from the triggering unit.

  • Patent number: 10577107
Abstract: A system for suctioning fluid is disclosed. In a cabin monument, a vacuum source and a vacuum interface unit is provided. At least one flexible hose provides a connection to the vacuum interface unit, having at least one first fluid line having a connection element. The end connection element connects to a unit to be evacuated. The vacuum interface unit includes an adapter for connection to the at least one fluid line, and a trigger unit. At least one valve unit and a control unit for controlling the at least one valve unit reside in the cabin monument. The control unit controls the valve unit at least indirectly based on a trigger signal generated by the trigger unit. Thus, a flexible positioning of a unit to be evacuated for waste compaction is possible. The disclosure also relates to a vehicle, in particular an aircraft, having such a suctioning system.

  • Patent number: 10479505
Abstract: A fluid-disposing system for a galley sink includes: a galley sink for a galley cabin monument, a self-regulating valve, a control unit, a sensor, and a signal connection between the sensor and the control unit. The valve input is connected to a fluid line, connected to a drainage opening of the galley sink. The valve is arranged underneath the drainage opening, such that fluid from the galley sink can flow through the associated drainage opening into the fluid line. The valve output is designed to be couplable with a source of negative pressure. The valve is designed to automatically open at a predetermined amount M1 of fluid in the fluid line, such that fluid can flow out of the fluid line, and to automatically close at a predetermined amount M2 of fluid in the fluid line, such that the predetermined amount M2 of fluid remains in the fluid line.
