  • Patent number: 8746221
Abstract: A back-tension archery release finger includes a housing containing a chamber which is adapted to receive a soft rubber insert. The housing includes at least one opening in a side wall thereof which communicates with the chamber to provide access to the insert. The insert projects through the side wall opening to define a contact surface for the finger of an archer. The housing may be contoured to match multiple fingers of the archer.

  • Publication number: 20130092139
Abstract: A quick release buckle includes male and female members which are fastened together via a hinge connection. The male member includes a laterally extending pin which fits within a recess in the top front portion of the female member. The recess includes and undercut portion for receiving and retaining the male member pin. Both members include laterally extending top bars on the upper surfaces thereof. Pinching the top bars together releases the male member pin from the female member recess to unfasten the buckle.

  • Patent number: 7993215
Abstract: A golf club head can, for example, include a striking component with a forward surface to strike golf balls and an arrow-like component, such as a stylus, behind the forward surface; a user can see the arrow-like component pointing approximately in an optimal direction for striking a ball. Also, in addition to a front part with a forward surface between its lateral ends, a club head can include two parts that extend rearward from the lateral ends and support a weight part at a distance from the forward surface. Also, to prevent twisting about a lateral center of mass when a ball is hit, the front part can include upper and lower lobe-like portions with connections at their lateral ends and with a less connected region between, such as a gap or a thin connecting portion. A hosel can be connected to the upper lobe-like portion between the end connections.

  • Patent number: 7654254
Abstract: Bowstring release is accomplished with systems, apparatus, devices, products, and methods. A system can, for example, include a release component that can hold and release bowstrings, a light component that can emit light, and a connecting component that can connect the release component and the light component. The light component can, for example, emit predominantly blue, green, or red light to preserve night vision. The release and light can be connected by a handle structure with two telescoping parts whose length can be adjusted to fit one's hand. A bowstring release can pivot or be fixed in position relative to a handle structure. A glove-like structure can have a finger opening and an attached tube-like structure adjacent to the finger opening; in use, the tube-like structure contains the handle structure, which is held by fingers extending through the finger opening. The handle structure can also fit into a concho-type grip.

  • Patent number: 6953035
Abstract: A device to hold and release a bowstring includes a part that can be locked, held in position, or caused to move with a user-held portion such as a handle. A back tension release device can, for example, include a handle portion; a release assembly on the handle portion with a part of the release assembly able to pivot relative to the handle portion; and a locking mechanism. A user holding the handle portion, with the release assembly holding a bowstring, can control the locking mechanism. When unlocked, the locking mechanism allows the part to pivot, but, when locked, the locking mechanism locks it so that the part moves with the handle portion. The part can, for example, be a pawl head that, when locked, moves with the handle and releases a sear element.

  • Patent number: 6736123
Abstract: A crossbow trigger mechanism includes a trigger housing; a jaw component pivotably mounted in the trigger housing and adapted to move between a bowstring retaining position and a bowstring releasing position; and a trigger assembly pivotably mounted in the trigger housing and operatively engaged with the jaw. A safety lever is pivotably mounted in the trigger housing and movable manually into and out of engagement with the trigger assembly. A dry fire prevention lever is pivotably mounted on the jaw component and includes a first surface portion adapted and arranged to engage a stop fixed to the trigger housing when no arrow is loaded in the crossbow and thus prevent movement of the jaw component to the bowstring releasing position, and a second surface portion adapted to be engaged by an arrow such that when an arrow is loaded into the crossbow, the first surface portion is moved away from the stop to thereby permit movement of the jaw component to the bowstring releasing position.

  • Patent number: 6647976
Abstract: A triggerless back tension release for use with a bow string includes a handle portion with a post extending substantially perpendicularly away from the handle portion; and a two-link release head assembly secured to a free end of the post remote from the handle portion. The two-link release head includes an intermediate link pivotably mounted on the post and a forward link pivotably mounted to the intermediate link. A rope loop having two free ends is secured to the forward link. A sear is pivotably secured to the forward link, the sear having a hook adapted to receive the rope loop. A substantially triangularly shaped pawl is fixed to the intermediate link and arranged to engage an edge of the sear and to release the sear upon relative movement between the pawl and the sear.

  • Patent number: 6584966
Abstract: A triggerless back tension release for use with a bow string includes a handle portion including at least two finger grooves with a post extending substantially perpendicularly away from the handle portion; a two-link release head assembly secured to a free end of the post remote from the handle portion, the two-link release head including an intermediate link pivotably mounted on said post and a forward link pivotably mounted to said intermediate link; a rope loop having two free ends secured to the forward link; and a sear pivotably secured to the forward link, the sear having a hook adapted to receive the rope loop. The free ends of the rope loop are secured to the forward link at a location closely adjacent the hook and forward of the pivot axis, such that, when the rope loop is wrapped about a bow string and slipped over the hook, a gap between doubled-back strands of the rope between the bow string and the release head remains substantially constant or increases in a direction toward the bow string.
