  • Patent number: 5971063
Abstract: A vapor condenser includes a conduit defining a passage for guidingly communicating a vapor stream in a vapor flow direction from an inlet at a first location to a second location, a first heat exchanger between the first and second locations for open heat exchange between the vapor and a first coolant, the first coolant flowing in a direction that is counter to the vapor flow direction, and a second heat exchanger between the first and second locations for open heat exchange between the vapor and a second coolant. The vapor condenser automatically controls the flow rate of coolant in the first heat exchanger in response to changes in the density of the vapor in the vapor stream entering the conduit. Control of the flow rate of coolant is maintained, for example, by controlling the flow rate of individual dispersal devices, such as nozzles, or by controlling the number of nozzles operating.

  • Patent number: 5782252
Abstract: A parts washer is provided having structure for supporting at least one part to be washed and a means for mounting the supporting structure for rotation about a first axis relative to the support therefor. Structure is provided for delivering cleaning fluid from a pressurized supply to against a part in the part supporting structure with the fluid delivering structure including a conduit having directing structure thereon for directing the pressurized supply from the conduit in a discharge direction that is transverse to the first axis. Structure is provided for selectively repositioning the fluid directing structure relative to the part supporting structure. Preferably, the parts washer includes means for rotating the parts supporting structure.

  • Patent number: 5722443
Abstract: A parts washer is provided having a cabinet defining an interior space and a mechanism for entraining a liquid and/or vapor in the interior space. The cabinet defines an opening for accessing the interior space from externally of the cabinet. Mounting structure is provided for mounting a closure element to the cabinet for movement selectively between a) an open position wherein the interior space can be accessed through the cabinet opening and b) a closed position. Structure is provided cooperating between the closure element and the cabinet for defining a controlled flow path for the liquid and/or vapor in the interior space with the control flow path configured so that at least one of the liquid and vapor in the interior space is caused to change directions as it traverses the controlled flow path.

  • Patent number: 5524653
Abstract: A parts washer is provided having a reservoir containing a supply of fluid and a first mechanism for pressurizing fluid from the supply and delivering the pressurized fluid to against a part to be washed with the first mechanism including an inlet for fluid from the reservoir which is at least partially immersed in reservoir fluid so that there is a predetermined fluid pressure at the inlet due to the depth of the fluid. Structure is provided for increasing the pressure of fluid at the inlet without changing fluid depth at the inlet.

  • Patent number: 4365832
Abstract: In accordance with the present invention a hatch cover hold down arrangement is provided including a handle which pivots about a first mounting pin. The handle includes an elongated locking slot. A locking member includes an extension which in one position is located over and holds in place a hatch cover. A locking pin extends from the locking member into the elongated slot in the handle and a mounting pin slot is provided in the locking member which receives the mounting pin upon which the handle is pivotably mounted. Preferably the mounting pin is supported by a flange located adjacent to the locking member which includes a vertical surface which guides the locking member during vertical movement between open and closed positions. The locking member includes a surface which engages the flange vertical surface as the locking member is lifted by the handle and locking pin from the closed position toward open position and prevents initial rotation of the locking member.
