  • Publication number: 20230013693
Abstract: Methods and systems for performing wireless communication are presented. In one example, a wireless peripheral device comprises a wireless transceiver configured to receive and transmit data over a primary channel, an optical sensor configured to receive data over an out-of-band channel, and one or more processors configured to: receive, via the wireless transceiver and over the primary channel, wireless signals including first key data from a second device; receive, via the optical sensor, optical signals including verification data from the second device; verify the first key data based on the verification data; and responsive to verifying the first key data based on the verification data, generate a digital security key based on the first key data, the digital security key used for following data transmission between the wireless peripheral device and the second device via the wireless transceiver.

  • Patent number: 7373268
Abstract: The present invention includes a method and system for dynamically controlling cooling resources in a data center based on the workload of the data center. Accordingly, based on the workload constraints (power consumed, latency, etc.) of the data center, each of a plurality of different types of cooling resources is activated in an optimal fashion. Consequently, a substantial savings in operational costs related to cooling resources is achieved. A first aspect of the present invention is a method for dynamically controlling cooling resources in a data center. The method comprises determining a workload within the data center, determining an amount of heat being generated as a function of the workload and activating each of a plurality of different types of cooling resources within the data center in an optimal fashion based on the amount of heat being generated.

  • Publication number: 20050146507
Abstract: A method, system, and apparatus is disclosed for interfacing with a graphical user interface. In one embodiment, the graphical user interface is displayed on a first computing arrangement. One or more control graphical components are displayed on a second computing arrangement. The control graphical components abstract functions of a proper subset of graphical components of the graphical user interface and are associated with the subset of graphical components. A user input is received via the control graphical components of the second computing arrangement. The user input is communicated to the first computing arrangement for controlling the associated portions of the graphical user interface. A state of the graphical user interface of the first computing arrangement is communicated to the second computing arrangement. The control graphical components of the second computing arrangement are updated based on the state of the graphical user interface.
