  • Patent number: 12267653
Abstract: A noise reduction system for actively compensating background noise generated by a noise source in a noise reduction area in a passenger transport area of a vehicle. The system includes a microphone array having a reference microphone. An averaging unit is configured to calculate an average error signal, which is calculated based on at least the error signal of a virtual microphone and a direct residual signal of a directed monitor microphone.

  • Publication number: 20240029703
Abstract: A noise reduction system for actively compensating background noise in a passenger transport area of a vehicle. The system includes an averaging unit configured to calculate an average error signal, which is indicative of a difference between a background noise and an anti-noise at more than one position in a noise reduction area and a dynamic adjustment unit, configured to update parameters of the anti-noise unit based on the average error signal and so as to minimize the average error signal.

  • Publication number: 20240029704
Abstract: A noise reduction system for actively compensating background noise in a noise reduction area in a transport area of a vehicle, the system includes a controller, at least one sensor detecting the background noise of the noise source, a sound generator generating anti-noise and at least one error-microphone to pick up background noise and anti-noise from the sound generator. The system includes sensors for detecting the background noise and are arranged at different positions in the vehicle, wherein each sensor generates a reference signal and the controller comprises a combination unit coupled to the sensors to receive the reference signals, the combination unit determines a virtual reference signal from the reference signals and is coupled to the dynamic adjustment unit in that the virtual reference signal is input to the anti-noise unit, for generating the anti-noise signal on a basis of the virtual reference signal.

  • Publication number: 20240029701
Abstract: A noise reduction system for actively compensating background noise in a passenger transport area of a vehicle. The noise reduction system includes a nonlinearity filter unit having a model of a non-linear transfer function of the sound generator, wherein the nonlinearity filter unit is configured to receive the anti-noise signal and to generate a filtered anti-noise signal by applying a non-linear filter function on the anti-noise signal, which is based on the model of the non-linear transfer function in that the non-linear response of the sound generator is at least partially corrected when driven by the filtered anti-noise signal. Wherein the nonlinearity filter unit is further configured to output the filtered anti-noise signal to a sound generator.

  • Patent number: 10832648
Abstract: A noise reduction system (2) and a method for actively compensating background noises in a passenger transport area of a vehicle. Said system includes a control unit (8), at least one microphone (10), at least one sound generator (12) and a position detection unit for detecting a position and/or orientation of the head (16) of a user. The control unit (8) is coupled to the position detection unit on an input side, is configured to receive position data and to determine a position signal from the position data, and to generate an antinoise signal from the background noise signal and the position signal. The sound generator (12) is configured to generate antinoise from the antinoise signal such that, by superimposing the antinoise in a quiet zone (20a, 20b) within the passenger transport area, which antinoise is in phase opposition with the background noise, active reduction of the background noise is achieved. The position detection unit is a 3D camera arrangement (14).
