  • Publication number: 20190057161
Abstract: An adaptive link is generated for delivering a device platform-specific and personalized digital pass. When the adaptive link is activated by an end user, a network request is sent from an end-user device to a digital pass management system. The network request may include header information that identifies the device platform of the end-user device. The digital pass management system extracts query string parameters included in the adaptive link. Based on the parameters, a personalized data set in a specific data format such as JSON is generated. A template that is compatible to the device platform is selected. A digital pass that is compatible with the device platform is generated and delivered based on the requirements of the end-user device. In some cases, the adaptive link may include location information such as latitude and longitude coordinates. The digital pass generated may also be location specific.

  • Patent number: 10183287
Abstract: A method of coating a substrate includes distributing a first catalyst slurry having a first catalytic composition and a first initial viscosity within the substrate to form a first catalyst layer within the substrate; adjusting the viscosity of the first catalyst layer such that the first catalyst layer is made to have a first adjusted viscosity that is greater than the first initial viscosity of the first catalyst slurry; distributing a second catalyst slurry having a second catalytic composition and a second initial viscosity within the substrate to form a second catalyst layer within the substrate, the second initial viscosity being made to be less than the first adjusted viscosity; the second catalyst slurry being distributed within the substrate while the first catalyst layer is in a wet state such that the second catalyst layer is formed as a wet-on-wet coating that at least partially overlaps the first catalyst layer.

  • Publication number: 20190013947
Abstract: In a method and system for responding to an unauthorized action on a mobile communications device, a cryptographic key is destroyed. The destruction of the cryptographic key is followed by initiating a boot sequence at the mobile communications device where the device is booted into a kernel that restricts operation of the mobile communications device to communications with a server.

  • Patent number: 10169784
Abstract: Customers of a financial institution may apply for a line of credit for use with, e.g., a web-based bill pay service. The credit line may be determined using an average value of the customer's previously direct-deposited paychecks and an analysis of the customer's spending behavior using the web-based bill pay service. In some implementations, the financial institution may aggregate data points associated with the customer to make a determination of an amount, an interest rate, and a term of the line of credit. The line of credit may be used to pay bills from a financial services institution and unrelated third-party billers with which the customer has a payment history, as well as provide for cash for use by the customer.

  • Patent number: 10084603
Abstract: A method and system for rendering a stolen mobile communications device inoperative is presented. A determination that the mobile communications device is in a first state is made at a security component on the mobile communications device. A removal of a cryptographic key is affected at the security component on the mobile communications device.

  • Patent number: 10017390
Abstract: Diamond bodies and methods of manufacture are disclosed. Diamond bodies are formed from at least a bimodal, alternatively a tri-modal or higher modal, feedstock having at least one fraction of modified diamond particles with a fine particle size (0.5-3.0 ?m) and at least one fraction of diamond particles with coarse particle size (15.0 to 30 ?m). During high pressure—high temperature processing, fine particle sized, modified diamond particles in the first fraction preferentially fracture to smaller sizes while preserving the morphology of coarse particle sized diamond particles in the second fraction. Diamond bodies incorporating the two fractions have a microstructure including second fraction diamond particles dispersed in a continuous matrix of first fraction modified diamond particles and exhibit improved wear characteristics, particularly for wear associated with drilling of geological formations.

  • Publication number: 20180042528
Abstract: Detecting postoperative complications in a patient uses a substrate made of biocompatible or biodegradable material. An adhesive layer adheres the substrate to patient tissue, surgical tool, or medical device. A biosensor at the substrate detects or measures an analyte in the patient's body. The biosensor may be on the surface of the substrate or within a microchannel in the substrate. A separation or isolation structure may be provided to separate or isolate the analyte from other analytes prior to the biosensor. A microcontroller is disposed on the substrate and connected to the biosensor and to a wireless communications interface also disposed on the substrate. The microcontroller measures a signal from the biosensor and may perform an analysis on the measured signal. Measured data or data resulting from the analysis is transmitted through the wireless communications interface to a transdermal patch or other remote device for storage and display.

  • Publication number: 20170234077
Abstract: Polycrystalline diamond compacts having interstitial diamonds and methods of forming polycrystalline diamond compact shaving interstitial diamonds with a quench cycle are described herein. In one embodiment, a polycrystalline diamond compact includes a substrate and a polycrystalline diamond body attached to the substrate. The polycrystalline diamond body includes a plurality of inter-bonded diamond grains that are attached to one another in an interconnected network of diamond grains and interstitial pockets between the inter-bonded diamond grains, and a plurality of interstitial diamond grains that are positioned in the interstitial pockets. Each of the plurality of interstitial diamond grains are attached to a single diamond grain of the interconnected network of diamond grains or other interstitial diamond grains.

  • Publication number: 20170206377
Abstract: A system and method to create a policy for managing personal data on a mobile communications device are disclosed. Personal data stored at one or more locations on the mobile communications device is identified by a policy management module on the mobile communications device. A policy is then created based on the personal data stored at the one or more locations. The policy management module on the mobile communications device monitors at least the personal data stored in the one or more locations on the mobile communications device.

  • Publication number: 20170142090
Abstract: A computing device creates verification information and a challenge token and sends the verification information and token to a server. A server receives a command and authentication information and uses the verification information to verify the authentication information. The server creates authentication credentials based on the authentication information and the challenge token. The computing device receives the command and the authentication credentials from the server, determines whether the credentials are valid, and then processes the command if the credentials are valid.

  • Patent number: 9642008
Abstract: A system and method to create and assign a policy for a mobile communications device are disclosed. The policy may be created based on personal data associated with the mobile communications device. For example, known sources of personal data on the mobile communications device may be identified and a policy may be created based on the known personal data. The policy may then be used to identify additional personal data associated with the mobile communications device. Thus, the personal data associated with the mobile communications device may be monitored. If an application attempts to access the monitored personal data, the access will be detected.

  • Patent number: 9602508
Abstract: An action is permitted to be performed on a computing device only after the action has been confirmed by two or more authorized and/or authenticated parties. A security component receives a request from to initiate an action on a computing device. Before the action is allowed to be initiated on the computing device the security component requires the authentication of first and second parties or authorizations from first and second parties, or both the authentications of and authorizations from first and second parties. After receiving the required authorizations and/or successfully performing the required authentications, the security component allows the requested action to be initiated on the computing device.

  • Publication number: 20160031342
Abstract: A person, animal, or object in the back seat of a motor vehicle can be presumed to have been inadvertently left there if a back seat access device such as a rear door or seatback of a front seat has been used, followed by the closure of a door lock and not followed by a second usage of the back seat access device. When a person, animal, or object is determined to have been inadvertently locked in the vehicle, an alarm is automatically generated by the vehicle, which notifies the driver, by-standers, and/or an emergency service provider.
