  • Patent number: 8231178
Abstract: Disclosed is an equipment of the type comprising a frame on which is mounted a dump body liftable by means of a body lift cylinder having two opposite ends, a first one of these ends being connected to the frame and the other one to the dump body in order to lift it up when the cylinder is extended. This equipment is characterized in that the first end of the cylinder connected to the frame is mounted on a mobile base which is fixed onto the frame in such a manner as to have some liberty of transversal inclination and thus to allow the cylinder to extend in a constant straight line even if a lateral torsion is applied onto the cylinder by the dump body when said dump body is lifted up.

  • Patent number: 7350873
Abstract: Disclosed is a latching assembly for use to lock the tailgate of a dump body of a truck. This assembly has a latch catch which is fixed to the tailgate and is devised in such a manner as to allow adjustment of the distance between its contact surface and the tailgate. The assembly has a pivotable hook with a projection positioned and shaped to abut against the contact surface of the latch catch. An actuator is provided to transmit pivotal movement to the hook via a set of links so as to turn this hook between a first position wherein the hook projection abuts against the contact surface of the latch catch, thereby preventing opening of the tailgate, and a second position wherein the hook projection is released from the latch catch, thereby enabling the tailgate to open.

  • Publication number: 20040183334
Abstract: Disclosed is a dump body for mounting on the frame of a truck. This dump body has a floor under which two parallel longsills extend longitudinally for reinforcing the same. Advantageously, the two longsills are mounted in adjacent position with respect to each other in the middle of the floor instead of being spaced apart under the same. The longsills that are so attached to the floor, altogether have a W-shape and act as a spring which absorbs and retransmits shocks due to impacts received during loading of the dump body.

  • Patent number: 4273381
Abstract: A dump body for mounting on the frame of a vehicle is disclosed. The dump body comprises a floor, side walls and a front wall secured together to form an integral unit, a rear gate closing the back of the unit. The floor is composed of a central, elongated plate and a pair of elongated lateral plates, each of smaller thickness than the central plate, so that the latter will resist abrasion for a longer time, where abrasion is most likely to occur and yet reducing the weight of the dump body. The lateral plates extend underneath and overlap the central plate and are bent to form integral, longitudianally-extending hollow beams welded to the central plate for strengthening the unit.

  • Patent number: 4225281
Abstract: A container carrier truck adapted to load and unload a container thereon and to conventionally dump a load and characterized by hydraulic cylinders arranged relative one to the other and to a pivoted loading-unloading frame to each be positioned in its optimum action position when the demand thereon is optimum. This truck includes a guideway for longitudinal displacement of the pivoted frame, a carriage also longitudinally displaceable along the guideway, a pair of hydraulic cylinders on the effectively opposite sides respectively of the pivotal frame, an abutment, and a catch device to hold the pivotal frame and carriage in a predetermined loading-unloading position along the guideway, one hydraulic cylinder exclusively producing pivoting of the pivoted frame, and the other producing pivoting and longitudinal displacement of the frame.

  • Patent number: 4027787
Abstract: An invertible shipping container for shipping particulate material and including a shell forming a main portion of right quadrilateral cross-section and having a flat closed bottom, a pair of top mouths and a dual funnel portion joining the main portion to the pair of mouths and tapering towards the latter at relatively steep and distinct funnel angles to enhance tumbling instead of producing jamming by the bridging effect upon discharge of the material from both mouths of the inverted container. When the container is upright, one mouth of the container is used for filling while the other is used to suck out dust and air. A releasable cover closes each mouth and carrying devices are secured to the main portion to carry and tilt the container for emptying.
