  • Publication number: 20120222266
Abstract: The present invention concerns a felt covered castor put under a piece of furniture to make it roll on a floor. The castor comprises one or more wheels on which are fixed felt strips rolled up along the wheels. The use of the felt strip allows to brush slightly a surface of the floor and to protect it from scratches occurring at the passage of a naked wheel on the floor. And also it deafens the noise of the sliding wheel against the floor. Means of binding such as fusion or sticking are used to maintain firmly the felt strip on the wheel and to prevent it from getting loose.

  • Publication number: 20110268940
Abstract: A felt pad to use under legs of furniture to protect the floor from scratches due to displacement of the furniture. The felt pad comprises two layers joined by an intermediate layer. A first thin layer in contact with the floor comprises virgin fibers, a second thick layer in contact with the bottom of the leg of a piece of furniture comprises recycled material fibers. Both layers are joined together by means of a fusion which forms a thin intermediate layer formed by the fusion of virgin fibers with recycled material fibers, thereby making both layers inseparable one from the other. The use of recycled fibers in bigger quantity than the virgin fibers allows giving a second life to fibers having already served a first time.

  • Publication number: 20080280102
Abstract: A protector pad for use with a piece of furniture with legs, and having a flat body with a lower pad face to slide against surfaces and an upper pad face to be fixed to the leg. The flat body includes a base and a sole. The base includes a fabric with a superior face forming the upper pad face and an inferior face having first means for assembly. The sole includes a lower layer whose inferior face defines the lower pad face, and an upper layer with a superior face having second means for assembly to assemble the sole to the base along an interface plane. The first means includes a plurality of grabbing member hooks each providing an equal shear resistance in all directions parallel to the interface plane. Typically, a reinforced material in a central layer includes a felt impregnated by a hardened latex material.

  • Publication number: 20080042024
Abstract: A floor saver for furniture comprising a felt sole laminated to a plastic part. Felt protects hard floor surfaces from scratches and reduces sound made by a furniture leg being dragged across a floor. The plastic part is molded and comprises a support platform and a joining part mounted directly or with an angle around or within a leg tip by means of glue, nails or screws. A piece of felt, having a thickness between 1 and 3 mm comprising resin injected into the felt, is melted jointly with the plastic part. Plastic and felt are both heated before being strongly pressed together, resulting in one inseparable device. This way, the floor saver will resist the shear stress responsible for the sliding of a felt piece away from the furniture leg much better than were it only attached to the furniture leg with a sole adhesive.

  • Publication number: 20080042025
Abstract: The present invention concerns a set of pads quickly interchangeable, which can fit to furniture or appliances. The set is composed of a round cup in which a textured rubber puck and a felt puck are inserted. These three elements can be arranged in such a manner to offer several functions: protection of floors against surface scratch due to furniture or appliances movement; slipping of furniture on hard and smooth surfaces or on carpet; anti-slipping on smooth surfaces, anti-vibration and sound proofing.

  • Publication number: 20050003723
Abstract: A felt pad made for application under the leg of a piece of furniture. This floor protector (20) is used to protect the floor from scratches caused by the furniture displacement. The superior face (26) is infused by an adhesive, instead of the two-sided adhesive tapes (60) which are known. The way the adhesive is infused renders the complete surface of the superior face adherent, which improves the felt pad resistance to shear efforts. It is also much more resistant to water. This innovative felt pad is replaceable when the adhesive is injected unto the upper face (38) of a mushroom-shaped Velcro surface, instead of directly to the superior face of a felt pad. Henceforth, a felt pad may be removeably fixed to the Velcro surface and replaced after wear. In this way, one may change only the felt pad, without having to remove the persisting adhesive below the leg. The felt pad used is in three stages: the top (42) and bottom (46) surfaces being made of felt, while the center stage (48) is reinforced.
