  • Patent number: 11672633
Abstract: A handle for an electrically operated personal-care implement includes a metal tube housing having a metal wall with an opening and an inner surface, the inner surface defining an inner cavity of the housing for accommodating an energy source, and a switch assembly for activating the energy source. The switch assembly, including a hard switch component and a soft switch component, is arranged in the opening and seals the opening from the inner surface of the wall. The hard switch component comprises a frame having a recess and attached to the inner surface of the metal wall thereby surrounding the opening and providing an undercut between the recess and the inner surface. The undercut is open to the opening, and the soft switch component is positioned in the undercut to at least partially cover the opening.

  • Publication number: 20210220101
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a handle for an electrically operated personal care implement comprises the following steps: providing a metal tube housing having a metal wall with an opening therein and an inner surface defining an inner cavity for accommodating an energy source; providing a hard switch component comprising a frame with a recess; attaching the frame of the hard switch component to the inner surface of the metal wall, the frame surrounding the opening and providing an undercut between the recess and the inner surface, the undercut being open towards the opening; and at least partially over-molding the opening to form a soft switch component in the undercut, thereby forming with the hard switch component a switch assembly for activating the energy source, the switch assembly sealing the opening from the inner surface of the metal wall.

  • Publication number: 20210079940
Abstract: A method of gluing a metal part to another part for use in a personal care device such as an electric toothbrush. The method includes steps of providing a metal, such as steel, part, and another, metal, part; treating a surface portion of the metal part with ultra-fast laser pulses having a pulse length in the femtosecond range, e.g., from about 1 femtosecond to about 990 femtoseconds, so that a surface layer of the metal surface is removed; applying an adhesive to the treated surface of the metal part or to a surface of the other part; and gluing the metal part and the other part together.

  • Patent number: 6520072
Abstract: This invention concerns a method for compacting waste in a machine including an cylindrical, open-top tank (2-4) and a compacting head (15, 16), wherein a horizontal toothed roller (16) is arranged in said tank (2-4) and bears on said waste under its own weight, and said roller (16) can be rotated around the central vertical axis of said tank by the action of a driving member (15). The method is characterized in that a quantity indicative of the force exerted by said driving member (15) is monitored, and in that, when said quantity exceeds a predetermined threshold, an unclogging operation is performed by (a) first raising said roller (16) up to a predetermined height and (b) then releasing said roller (16) thus causing it to lower back onto the waste, while being rotatively driven in the opposite direction.

In the case of a machine wherein said roller (16) is simultaneously rotatively driven around its own axis, the direction of such rotation also preferably is reversed after said roller (16) has been raised.

  • Patent number: 4145690
Abstract: A secondary radar system in which the transponder and central station possess for enciphering and deciphering complementary dispersive filters having expansion/compression factors of .theta..DELTA.F.sub.1, where .DELTA.F.sub.1 = 1/.DELTA..mu. is a measure of the spectral width of each reply pulse having a temporal width of .mu., .theta. being at least s .mu./.DELTA..mu., such that at least two adjacent pulses spaced s apart in the initial reply train are completely overlapped in the expanded reply. The application to secondary radar systems, especially of the IFF type, in order to improve considerably the secrecy of the link between an airborne transponder and the ground station.
