  • Patent number: 5795557
Abstract: A process for the preparation of a silica aerogel that includes subjecting a mixture that includes an organosilicon compound and ethyl acetoacetate to hydrolysis and polycondensation in an acidic medium to obtain a transparent gel. The organic solvent is substituted by liquid carbon dioxide and the carbon dioxide is evacuated under supercritical conditions of the carbon dioxide to obtain an aerogel.

  • Patent number: 5417757
Abstract: A liquid precursor for the production of fluorine doped tin oxide coatings including 60 to 90% by weight of at least one chlorinated organotin derivative, 5 to 30% by weight of at least one organotin mono(fluoroalkanoate), and 0 to 15% by weight of a tetraorganotin compound. Using vapor phase deposition, this produces a coating with low surface resistance and a high light transmission coefficient. Deposition is effected quickly so the precursor can readily be used to coat a moving substrate, for example, float glass.

  • Patent number: 4264496
Abstract: The present invention provides concentrated aqueous acid solutions of the colorant having the formula: ##STR1## in which A.sup..crclbar. represents the formate, acetate or propionate anion. The solutions are prepared starting with the corresponding chloride or sulfomethylate by forming the m- or p-nitrobenzoate, dissolving said salt in formic, acetic or propionic acid and eliminating the nitrobenzoic acid which is precipitated. The solutions of the invention can be used for coloring and printing fibers containing acid groups, and particularly acrylic fibers.
