  • Patent number: 5644854
Abstract: A first upright frame, to be disposed alongside a vehicle body to be repaired, has a top horizontal rail and a bottom horizontal measuring bar; a vertical, travelling, measuring rail is suspended from a carriage moving on the top rail for horizontal movement, a laser carriage is guided for vertical movement on the vertical travelling rail, a laser support is rotatably secured to the laser carriage for movement in a vertical plane, a cylindrical laser is supported by the support for rotation about its longitudinal axis. The laser has a lateral slit at one end through which a diverging planar laser beam is emitted. A vertical measuring tape is carried by the travelling rail and can be longitudinally adjusted while a horizontal measuring tape is longitudinally adjusted on the horizontal measuring bar. The laser can be positioned anywhere in a plane normal to an imaginary horizontal datum plane determined by targets underneath the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 5067342
Abstract: A sliding and locking system is adapted to be mounted around a vehicle straightening bench for supporting a force applying structure. The sliding system includes a pair of spaced rollers adapted to ride on lateral flanges of a vehicle supporting beam, the wheels being mounted at the end of a transverse beam supporting the force applying structure. The transverse beam supports a locking system provided with lever arms adapted to tighten the truss beam on the transverse beam while releasing the roller from the truss beam. The truss beam is subdivided into two superposed transverse beams adapted to pivot relative to one another, one of which pivots relative to the truss beam.

  • Patent number: 5036695
Abstract: A force applying structure is made to be fixed on the periphery of a frame straightening bench for a vehicle for simultaneously pushing and pulling on a part of the vehicle. The structure includes an upstanding post rigidly fixed in spaced relationship with the straightening bench. A device is mounted on the post for pulling on a chain and pushing with a hydraulic cylinder. The device comprises a base plate vertically fixed on the post and partition plates mounted edgewise on the base plate for forming a horizontal and a vertical channel forming a cross-shape recess. A first hydraulic cylinder is secured in one of the channel parallel to the base plate and has a piston projecting away from the intersection of the channels. At the intersection of the channels adjacent the first cylinder a pair of guide member having a partly circular contour extends inside the channels.

  • Patent number: 4862727
Abstract: A vehicle hoist having four separate pivoting shafts. Each shaft is pivotally and slidingly mounted at its lower end on a transversal cylindrical beam which is fixed on a frame. The shaft is adapted to move between a horizontal and a vertical position. The frame is fixed on a base structure and adapted to longitudinally slide on it. The top of each shaft is pivotally connected to an anchoring member which is adapted to grip the rocker panel pinchwelds of the vehicle. When the vehicle is pulled horizontally, the four shafts gripping the vehicle, raise the latter. Abutting components stop and hold the shafts in their upright position. The transversal and longitudinal movements are provided to adjust to the width and the length of the different types of vehicles.
