    Abstract: An automated decoring system includes plural decorers, each having a frame formed as a two-pronged fork. The space between the prongs receives a part to be decored. Each of the decorers is in a chamber having only one loading door. The plural decorers are within the operating radius of a loading robot which loads the part to be decored through a single face of the decorer into the space between the prongs.

  • Method and devices for decoring castings

    Abstract: Sand cores are broken up and removed from castings, particularly from cylinder heads from internal combustion engines. A pneumatic hammer is applied to the casting while the casting is held against a low pressure cylinder. The casting is subjected to horizontal oscillation by a receiver actuated by a rod and a double eccentric rotatably driven by a geared motor.
