Patent number: 9149574Abstract: The present invention relates to a port needle comprising a bearing for resting and fixing the port needle on the patient, a feed, and a needle. This problem is solved according to the invention by a port needle comprising a bearing (1) for resting the port needle on the patient, a feed (6), and a needle (3) having a tip (21), it being possible to bring the needle (3) into at least two positions, a puncture position and a retracted position, characterized by a safety section (7), which shields the tip (21) of the needle (3) at least in the retracted position and thus forms a needle-prick protection device.Type: GrantFiled: June 7, 2010Date of Patent: October 6, 2015Assignee: FRESENIUS KABI DEUTSCHLAND GMBHInventors: Wolfgang Hornig, Marcel Oster, Jürgen Maurer, Martina Papiorek, Bernhard Pech

Patent number: 8506549Abstract: A multipurpose connector made in two pieces and having three distal connectors and two proximal connectors arranged concentrically in one another and coaxially to one another and made differently and having a venting passage. The multipurpose connector is used in gravity-assisted and pump-assisted enteral feeding and serves for the connection of transfer systems to storage containers, in particular to nutrient and balancing liquid containers having differently designed openings. Also provided is a set for enteral application including a transfer system and the multipurpose connector and the use of the multipurpose connector or of the set.Type: GrantFiled: August 28, 2007Date of Patent: August 13, 2013Assignee: Fresenius Kabi Deutschland GmbHInventors: Barbara Breuer-Thal, Marcel Oster

Patent number: 8262629Abstract: The invention relates to a catheter port for supplying an active substance to an active site which is distant from the port. According to the invention, the housing (1) of the port is designed to have two parts, an upper housing part (7) and a lower housing part (6). The upper housing part (7) holds an insertion part (10) in a clamping manner in a housing recess (8) of the lower housing part (6), wherein a chamber (11) is arranged in said insertion part for receiving the active substance with the interpositioning of a punctured membrane (17) that can be pierced with an injection cannula. While the insertion part (10) and the chamber (11) can be manufactured from a material resistant to the active substance, preferably a heavier ceramics, the upper and lower housing parts may consist of a lighter biocompatible plastic material. It is advantageous that the patient only comes into contact with the upper and lower housing parts made of a biocompatible plastic material and not with the insertion part.Type: GrantFiled: October 4, 2007Date of Patent: September 11, 2012Assignee: Fresenius Kabi Deutschland GmbHInventors: Marcel Oster, Rainer Schumacher

Publication number: 20110137252Abstract: The device according to the invention for providing a percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) comprises a handle for handling the device. The wire that is to be inserted into the stomach of the patient is rolled on a wire spool that is mounted either in a rotatable manner on the handle part or on an attachment piece that can be attached to the handle. Aside from the puncturing cannula for puncturing the stomach, the device according to the invention comprises an insertion cannula for insertion the wire rolled on the wire spool into the stomach. The device according to the invention is characterized in that the puncturing cannula is designed as an outer cannula surrounding the insertion cannula, while the insertion cannula is designed as an inner cannula surrounded by the puncturing cannula, wherein the insertion cannula is guided into the puncturing cannula in a longitudinally displaceable manner. During the puncture of the stomach, the insertion cannula is recessed into the puncturing cannula.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 8, 2009Publication date: June 9, 2011Applicant: Fresenius Kabi Deutschland GmbHInventors: Marcel Oster, Bernhard Pech, Jürgen Maurer, Wolfgang Hornig
