  • Publication number: 20240102657
Abstract: A power system for an engine that can be used in an aircraft, a marine vessel or a land vehicle has a storage tank containing ammonia. An engine supported on the vehicle is configured to operate using hydrogen gas as fuel. A cracking device in or adjacent the engine receives heat from operation of the engine, e.g., from a compressor or a combustion chamber, and also receives ammonia from the storage tank, and it uses the heat from the engine to dissociate the ammonia to produce hydrogen gas. The cracking device supplies the hydrogen gas to the engine, which has a combustor in which combustion of the hydrogen gas takes place. The energy from the combustion drives the engine so as to provide mechanical energy.

  • Publication number: 20230167559
Abstract: An energy storage system and method employ electrolysis to convert excess electrical energy into hydrogen gas and oxygen gas stored in cryogenic flux capacitor units. When needed, the hydrogen and oxygen are liberated from the CFCs and mixed with supercritical CO2 and combusted in a combustion chamber without any nitrogen or air present to form a heated mixture of water and sCO2 that drives a turbine that creates energy that is returned to the power grid. The water in the sCO2 mixture is then extracted and returned to a reservoir for electrolysis when needed again, resulting in a closed system for storing electrical energy.

  • Patent number: 6209449
Abstract: Two per se known cross-strapping devices (10, 11) to which packages or bundles (1, 2 . . . 5) to be strapped are supplied in a conveying direction (F) in which one package or bundle at a time is positioned and crosswise strapped and out of which strapped packages or bundles are conveyed in the same conveying direction (F), are arranged in direct succession and are operated as a “tandem” by supplying two packages or bundles (1, 2), one to each one of the devices, by simultaneously strapping them and by conveying them away again simultaneously. For this purpose, a mutual control mode is necessary in which mutual control mode, in the two devices conveying steps (b) are carried out alternating with strapping steps (a) whereby the conveying stroke (2h) of the conveying steps is twice as long as when operating one only device. Compared to a single cross-strapping device, the arrangement has an increased performance and requires a minimal amount of additional space.
