Publication number: 20250138182Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a device for probing a subsurface structure. The method comprises the steps of (a) sending a probe signal as an electromagnetic wave into the structure. (b) receiving an echo signal of the electromagnetic wave from the structure, and (c) processing the echo signal for deriving information about the structure. The step (c) of processing the echo signal comprises sampling the echo signal at a sampling frequency fs. The probe signal comprises multiple discrete frequency components fn,k, wherein at least two of the multiple frequency components fn,k are located in different Nyquist zones. An n-th Nyquist zone covers a frequency range from (n?1)*Tfs/2 to n*fs/2 with fs being the sampling frequency and n=1, 2 . . . . Further, k=1 . . . K and K is the number of frequency components fn,k in the n-th Nyquist zone. The method and device facilitate an increase in data acquisition speed without losing information on any of the frequency components.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 17, 2021Publication date: May 1, 2025Applicant: PROCEQ SAInventors: Samuel LEHNER, Marcel POSER

Publication number: 20240241247Abstract: GPR system and method for autonomously conducting a GPR survey of a subsurface bounded by a surface by a GPR device. The GPR device is mechanically connected to an autonomous robot. The method includes defining a survey path on the surface in a survey geometry; causing the robot to autonomously move along the survey path, thereby controlling a position of the GPR device; transmitting, via the GPR device, radar waves into the subsurface and recording their echoes as GPR data together with position data indicative of the position of the GPR device. The GPR system acquires GPR data of a subsurface bounded by a surface. The GPR system includes an autonomous robot, in particular with legs, and a GPR device, in particular which alternatively may be used as a stand-alone device.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 25, 2021Publication date: July 18, 2024Applicant: PROCEQ SAInventors: Marcel POSER, Antonio CABALLERO, Jonas ZOLLIKER

Patent number: 11914029Abstract: A reconfigurable GPR device for acquiring radar data about a medium includes a radar antenna with a first polarization, a processor unit connected to the antenna, and a casing around the antenna and the processor unit. Further the device includes at least one of a wheel assembly and a direction-determining unit. If present, the wheel assembly includes a holder, a wheel and a wheel rotation sensor. The wheel rotation sensor is connected to the processor unit, and an axis of the wheel is pivotal relative to the first polarization. If present, the direction-determining unit is connected to the processor unit and adapted to determine directional information. The directional information is descriptive of an angle between a direction of movement of the device and the first polarization.Type: GrantFiled: November 23, 2020Date of Patent: February 27, 2024Assignee: PROCEQ SAInventors: Samuel Lehner, Thomas Knorr, Michael Geiser, Isaak Tsalicoglou, Marcel Poser

Patent number: 10551280Abstract: An arrangement (1) for inspecting an object (2) comprising a mobile measuring unit (13) for determining a measured value associated with the object (2). The measuring unit (13) has an interface for interchanging data with further units (12, 14-17). The arrangement also comprises a base unit (3; 12) in which data records (13) can be stored and displayed. A detection mechanism (14) is provided for detecting a measurement position (32), at which the measured value is determined, and/or a measurement time at which the measured value is determined. The measured value determined by the measuring unit (13) can be transmitted, together with measurement position and/or measurement time, as a data record to the base unit (3; 12). The mobile measuring unit (13) determines measured values for an internal structure and/or an internal state of components (8), in particular inaccessible components, of the object (2) in a non-destructive manner.Type: GrantFiled: October 30, 2013Date of Patent: February 4, 2020Assignee: TECTUS DREAMLAB PTE LTDInventors: Marcel Poser, Malcolm Lim
