A container includes an agitator element disposed in a guide inside the container, as well as an applicator for carrying and applying the composition to a surface. The agitator element is movably disposed within the guide, such that during agitation of the container, the agitator element controllably moves along the guide, through the composition, to mix the composition and increase uniformity of the composition for use. The guide prevents contact of the agitator element with the applicator to prevent damage to the applicator or flocking during agitation. The container is suited for use with cosmetic compositions that can be mixed for use.
