  • Patent number: 12394532
Abstract: A storage device for transporting and/or storing nuclear fuel assemblies. The device includes a plurality of transverse structures separated by spacers. Sleeves pass through openings of at least one of the transverse structures. Each sleeve is made from flat structures and forms a housing that can receive a fuel assembly. At least one of these sleeves has an inner recess-delimiting surface formed in part by an inner surface of a first flat structure made with boron and an inner surface of a second flat structure made without boron.

Assignee: ORANO NUCLEAR PACKAGES AND SERVICES
    Inventors: Marcel Tardy, Stéphane Nallet
  • Patent number: 12119127
Abstract: A storage device for storing and/or transporting nuclear fuel assemblies. The storage device includes a number N of adjacent recesses. Some of the recesses created by means of notched, intersecting and stacked plates. In at least one transverse plane, at least one of the adjacent recesses has an inner surface which defines the recess. The adjacent recess being formed in part by a first surface of a first notched plate made with boron and a first surface of a second notched plate made without boron.

  • Publication number: 20240177879
Abstract: An assembly for transporting uranium hexafluoride, includes: a sealed inner container, defining a first containment shell intended to be loaded with uranium hexafluoride and having a general cylindrical shape of circular cross-section, the first containment shell being delimited by a lateral wall extending about a longitudinal central axis of the inner container, as well as by two opposite axial end walls crossed by the longitudinal central axis, at least one of the two opposite axial end walls of the sealed inner container being equipped with a uranium hexafluoride filling valve; a sealed outer container delimiting a second containment shell in which the inner container is housed in an extractable manner; and two shock absorber caps removably fastened on respectively two opposite axial ends of the outer container.

  • Publication number: 20230127068
Abstract: A storage device for transporting and/or storing nuclear fuel assemblies is intended to be accommodated in the cavity of a package for transporting and/or storing nuclear fuel assemblies, and includes adjacent recesses. The device includes a plurality of transverse structures spaced apart by spacers, and sleeves each passing through an opening of at least one of the transverse structures, each sleeve being made from flat bars. In at least one transverse plane of the device passing through the sleeves, at least one of these sleeves has an inner recess-delimiting surface formed in part by: an inner surface of a first flat bar made with boron; and an inner surface of a second flat bar made without boron.

  • Patent number: 10297357
Abstract: The invention relates to a storage device for storing and/or transporting nuclear fuel assemblies, which includes recesses (2) defined by separating partitions (9) defining first and second recesses (2), the partition comprising: two first walls (22) defining the first and second recesses and made of an aluminium-alloy material which is free of neutron-absorbing elements, and defining therebetween a first inter-wall space (28); two second walls (30) arranged in the first space (28) and made of a material which comprises neutron-absorbing elements, the distance between the inner (36) and outer (34) surfaces of each second wall (30) defining a thickness (e2), and a distance (E) being defined between the outer surface (34) of each second wall and a median partition plane (20), the values meeting the condition 0.1?e2/E?0.43.
