Abstract: A device for fastening a gripper bar to a driving chain includes a first part which is an integral part of the chain of which it is to replace one of the links, this first part consisting of vertical outer plate portions and vertical inner plate portions linked by an inner connection and able to receive between them the upstream axle and the downstream axle of the chain link. The device also includes a horizontal plate portion extending from the inner vertical plate portion for engaging an upper surface of an upper wall of the bar while a counter-plate is inserted in the profiled piece of the bar end so that the upper wall of the profiled piece of the bar is disposed between the counter-plate and the horizontal plate portion and these members are interconnected by threaded fasteners.

Abstract: A tool used for an upper tool blank separating station has a plate provided with numerous apertures and a lower surface provided with one of a two-layer system of fastening with a first of the two layers having a plurality of loops and a second of the two layers having a plurality of catches or hooks for engaging the loops, and an upper surface of each block at least partially covered with the other of the two layers so that when the block is pressed against the lower surface of the plate, it is mounted thereon.

Abstract: The invention concerns a process for regulating the parallelism of two beams of a cutting press designed for converting sheet or weblike matter into a package. The press comprises a frame made of a lower crossbar and an upper crossbar, connected to one another by means of lateral posts. An upper beam is fitted on the upper crossbar. A lower movable beam is raised and lowered with each operating cycle by means of a drive system supported by the lower crossbar by means of bearings. The bearings can be shifted vertically when the drive system is situated in a lower dead center position in such a way as to regulate the parallelism of the lower beam with regard to the upper beam. When the press accomplishes its operating cycle, a deviation e from parallelism is measured when the drive system is situated in an upper dead center position.

Abstract: A gripper bar fitted on drive chains and destined to grip and carry plate shaped sheets of material through printing, cutting and similar machines to produce a package characterized by the bar including a hollow profile on which the grippers are fastened. Every gripper consists of a flat spring attached at one end to a leading edge wall of the bar and having the other free end taking a rest position engaging a gripper counterpart which is situated on the trailing edge of the bar. The flat spring has a length greater than the width of the bar and passes through the bar before reappearing through a window on the trailing edge of the bar.

Abstract: A platen press designed for cutting, creasing or embossing sheet-like materials includes a lower movable beam carrying the sheet, and an upper beam stationary beam or which a tool is fitted. To avoid bending of the tool which has a shape of a plate in an operating position at least one of a chamber of an inner volume of the upper beam is isolated from the atmosphere and is connected to a vacuum source and has a duct extending from the one chamber to a lower surface of the beam adjacent the back surface of the plate forming the tool so as to apply a suction between the tool and the lower surface to hold the tool against the lower surface.

Abstract: A telescopic tool used for stripping waste from a cut sheet of material in a waste stripping station comprises a hollow cylindrical body which receives a pin having a portion extending out of a bore of the body with a tip for engaging the waste material. The tip is formed of a deformable material, while the remaining portion of the pin is of a rigid, hardened material. The pin has a collar received in the interior of the body which engages an internal shoulder and to absorb noise, the pin is provided with an elastic element adjacent to the collar to be interposed between the collar and shoulder.

Abstract: A fastening device for securing a tool on an adjustable crossbar of a waste stripping and blank separating station of a sheet processing machine includes a tie bar provided with a headed end which receives a support for the tool part, a pair of clamping jaws, each of which is provided with a supporting surface designed to enter in contact with the crossbar of the stripping station and have additional supporting surfaces designed to enter into contact with one another. The second end of the tie bars carries a tightening arrangement which provides three positions including a substantial release of pressure on the jaws to enable fixing and dismantling of the tool, an intermediate amount of pressure on the jaws to allow shifting of the arrangement along the crossbar and a third amount of pressure which provides a tightening or locking of the tool in a given position on the crossbar.

Abstract: A device for measuring forces and avoiding overloads on platen presses includes a detection unit connected with a processing unit by a connection block. The processing unit includes an amplifying unit coupled with a calculation unit which is connected to a memory unit joined with a control unit for stopping the main motor of the platen press. The processing unit also is connected with a display unit which provides scale members for displaying the measured forces.

Abstract: A device designed for stripping waste from a sheet, which has been die cut by means of a platen press. The device includes two lateral frames, a fixed upper part or plate in which stripping tools are fixed, a lower movable supporting plate with apertures, which have the outline corresponding to the outlines of the waste to be removed, means for conveying a sheet between the upper and lower plates which means consist of gripper bars fitted between two endless chains running within the lateral frame members, and means for raising a portion of the means for conveying during the movement of the lower movable supporting plate.
