Patent number: 10488389Abstract: Some embodiments are directed to a system for assessing chloride concentration at one predetermined area of a porous or composite material, such as a reinforced concrete structure, including a sensor embedded in the predetermined area of the material, an analyzer connected to the sensor, and a processing module connected to the analyzer. The sensor includes two facing or coplanar electrodes, an intermediate layer arranged between the electrodes, the intermediate layer being in contact with the material of the predetermined area of the structure and including calcium aluminates. The analyzer is configured to apply an alternate current between the electrodes and output an impedance value or capacitance value of the intermediate layer. The processing module is configured to compute a chloride concentration assessment in the predetermined area of the material based on the impedance value or capacitance value outputted by the analyser.Type: GrantFiled: July 7, 2016Date of Patent: November 26, 2019Assignees: UNIVERSITÉ DE NANTES, CENTRE NATIONAL DE LA RECHERCHE SCIENTIFIQUE—CNRS, UNIVERSIDAD DE LOS ANDESInventors: Magda Marcela Torres Luque, Johann Faccelo Osma Cruz, Mauricio Sanchez Silva, Emilio Bastidas Arteaga, Franck Schoefs

Publication number: 20110136030Abstract: A high temperature proton exchange medium (PEM) fuel stack system includes features for enhancing the thermal management of the fuel cell. The fuel cell can include a plurality of membrane-electrode-assemblies (MEA) separated by bipolar plates. The upper and lower edges of the bipolar plates are configured such that a plurality of fins is formed therein. Air can be passed along the fins in the upper edges of the plates and along the fins in the lower edges in opposite directions. A plurality of channels is formed on one or both surfaces of the bipolar plates. The channels extend along a serpentine path. Except for the end plates, hydrogen is supplied to the channels on one side of each plate and air is supplied to the channels on the channels on the opposite side of each plate. Such features keep the fuel cell within acceptable temperature limits during operation.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 3, 2010Publication date: June 9, 2011Applicant: EnerFuel, Inc.Inventors: Gaelle Laura Garozzo VALENCIA, Thomas J.
