  • Publication number: 20230401485
Abstract: There is provided a method and apparatus for at least one of optimizing, monitoring and controlling a real physical system. Data representative of the physical system are obtained and used to generate one or more Hamiltonians. These Hamiltonians, in turn, are used in a quantum signal processing circuit of a quantum computer to simulate imaginary time evolution of a thermal pure quantum (TPQ) state of a collection of qubits that represent a Gibbs state of the system. Optionally, a Bayesian machine may be trained based on the evolution of the TPQ state to predict behavior of the physical system over time. Classical shadow tomography is then used to provide a classical representation of a TPQ state to a classical computer, to thereby facilitate classical optimization or control of the real physical system.

  • Publication number: 20220391742
Abstract: A computing system including one or more classical binary computers coupled to one or more quantum computers. The computing system is configured to process the one or more computing tasks including at least one combinatorial optimization task using a Filtering Variational Quantum Eigensolver (F-VQE) algorithm implemented by using one or more Ansätze circuits and a cost function arrangement to generate one or more quantum circuits in the quantum computer. The computing system iteratively applies a filtering operator to a cost function arrangement to generate a corresponding filtered cost function arrangement that excludes energy states that exceed an energy threshold and uses the filtered cost function arrangement in the one or more quantum circuits to generate output results.

  • Publication number: 20220292377
Abstract: A computing system that includes a quantum computer, wherein the computing system is configured to use variational inference methods based on input data derived from an apparatus to be controlled, and to output data for controlling the operation of the apparatus. Methods for using the computing system for controlling operation of the apparatus. The computing system uses variational inference methods configured to drawing conclusion about unobserved variable given observations of related variables, to control the apparatus. The computing system may use Bayesian networks, quantum Born machines, adversarial objectives, or kernelized Stein discrepancy, to perform variational inference.

  • Patent number: 6619392
Abstract: Blast joint assemblies are used for integral prevention of erosion of a production string crossing a production zone and simultaneous protection of hydraulic, electric and/or optical lines which need to cross same zones to operate and retrieve data from downhole operated tools. Each assembly is composed by one or more modular joint bodies having each at least one longitudinal slot on its outer surface; protecting covers shielding the longitudinal slots to house control lines housed in each of the longitudinal slots, with the protecting covers being properly retained on the related tubular joint body. The tubular joint bodies are precision machined to be connected by male and female threads granting an exact alignment of all slots in the blast joint(s) and allowing any combination of lengths for coping with any required assembly.
