  • Patent number: 5927608
Abstract: A device for heating washing liquid to be sprayed onto a vehicle windshield includes a thermally insulating body and a heating element configured to be heated in response to an applied electric current. The heating element is positioned within the thermally insulating body. A path is defined along a surface of the heating element to permit passage of the washing liquid along the surface of the heating element so that the washing liquid is heated by contact with the surface of the heating element.

  • Patent number: 5613268
Abstract: A windshield wiper arm for a vehicle windshield includes a block; a blade supporting arm having a first end and a second end, the first end of the blade supporting arm connected to the block so as to permit oscillation in a direction orthogonal to the windshield; the second end including a device for attaching the blade supporting arm to a windshield wiper; a device for imparting an elastic load between the block and the blade supporting arm so as to urge the windshield wiper against the windshield; the block including a cavity therein for receiving the first end of the blade supporting arm; and the imparting device arranged to impart the load on the first end of the blade.

  • Patent number: 5245742
Abstract: A windscreen-wiper blade includes a moulded plastics holder constituted by a main bow with a central portion for the attachment of an operating arm and at least two secondary bows formed in a single piece with the main bow, and a wiper blade carried by a longitudinal support which is inserted between pairs of lateral retaining claws on the main and secondary bows. The main bow has two transverse centering and stop projections at its ends for preventing the support with its wiper blade from coming out of the holder longitudinally.

  • Patent number: 4951343
Abstract: The connector according to the invention comprises a body 2 provided with a generally hook-shaped lateral recess 7a, 7c and a laterally removable element 3 having the same shape as said recess 7a, 7c. For mounting the connector onto a hook-end or onto a straight-end wiper arm said arm (4) is first inserted into said recess 7a, 7c and the laterally removable element 3 is then screwed onto the body 2 of the connector. When the screw 13 of the element 3 is screwed into the portin 8 of the body 2 it pushes upwards, against the wiper arm 4, the hinged portion 10 of the body 2 of the connector and thus locks the wiper arm 4 in the connector.

  • Patent number: 4949421
Abstract: The connector 1 is made in one piece out of a plastic material. It comprises a first portion 1a rigidly secured to the wiper arm extension 5, a second portion 1b rotatably secured at 9, 9a to a wiper blade (not shown) and a resilient intermediate portion 1c. The connector 1 is part of a wiper system wherein it is indispensable that the wiper blade can rotate with respect to the wiper arm extension 5 about an axis substantially perpendicular to the surface to be wiped and passing through the connector.

  • Patent number: 4918780
Abstract: The wiper arm assembly according to the invention comprises a mounting head (1) rigidly secured to a drive shaft (A-B), a channel (2) rotatably connected to the mounting head (1), spring means (4) capable of biasing the channel (2) towards the surface to be wiped, a sliding element (9) located inside the channel (2) and provided with an arm extension (3) for attaching thereto (3a) a wiper blade (not shown), and a rod (12) articulated at one of its ends (11)to the sliding element (9) and, at the other of its ends (11a), to the vehicle body (14) at a certain distance from the drive shaft (A-B). When the channel (2) is oscillating about the drive shaft (A-B) said rod (12) imports a back and forth movement to the sliding element (9) and thus to the arm extension (3) and to the wiper blade (not shown). Solid anti-friction means are provided between the sliding element (9) and the channel (2). The solid anti-friction means may consist of a plastic sheath (13), or of a ball bearing, or of a roller bearing, etc.

  • Patent number: 4750235
Abstract: The invention relates to a simplified wiper arm for motor vehicles. It comprises only a channel (1), an arm extension (2), a mounting head (3), a helical spring (4) and a rivet (5) acting as articulation means between the channel (1) and the mounting head (3). The mounting head (3) is secured to the drive shaft (7) in the area (6) located betweewn the arm extension (2) and the helical spring (4). The geometrical axis of the helical spring (4) extends substantially perpendicularly to the geometrical axis of the drive shaft (7). One of the extremities (4b) of the helical spring (4) exerts a pressure or load on the channel (1) and on the arm extension (2) via a protruding tongue (1a') provided on the channel (1).
