  • Publication number: 20240151695
Abstract: Disclosed is a continuous process in which a subset of a number of mutually identical columns, are connected in series. The process liquid, e.g. crude cell culture harvest, is supplied to the most upstream column of the subset. It flows successively through the in series connected columns and leaves the subset through the most downstream and flows into the downstream collection vessel. As soon as the packed bed of the most upstream column is become saturated with product, this column is disconnected from the subset. It is removed from the series connection. A replacement, identical, column is added such that it is connected in series downstream from the most downstream column of the subset. This process is repeated.

  • Publication number: 20220314201
Abstract: Packed bed gel material cleaning vessel, has an internal processing volume, to contain the gel, delimited by a circumferential, axially extending, upright vessel wall at both axial ends sealed by a top vessel wall and an opposite bottom vessel wall, the internal processing volume is above 10 litre; sensors of the vessel monitor the filling level of the vessel. A bottom filter completely covers the vessel bottom wall A circumferential, axially extending, cylindrical vertical filter is provided a short radial distance, e.g. between 1 and 20 millimetre internally from, parallel and concentrically with, the upright vessel wall, providing a torus like flow gap concentrical with the upright vessel wall.

  • Publication number: 20220229025
Abstract: Disclosed is an equipment including a container filled with chromatography beads for capturing a product present in a process liquid or to prepare them for subsequent use. The equipment also includes a supporting frame standing on the ground and providing support for the container such that the container is spaced above the ground. Outside the container there is provided a lifting system fastened to and supported by the supporting frame and fastened to a part of the container such that the part of the container can be raised by the lifting system relative to the supporting frame and another part of the container. At least part of the lifting system extends aside the container from the bottom to the top of the container.

  • Patent number: 9844741
Abstract: A liquid chromatography column, utilizing horizontal or radial flow of sample material passing there through, includes a housing defining a chamber therein, at least one removable screw lid, and first and second longitudinally extending porous frits positioned within the chamber. A bed or packing of particulate, chromatographic separation material is positioned within the chamber and intermediate the porous frits, the first of the porous frits being adjacent the housing and an inlet channel, the second of the porous frits being positioned adjacent a core member and an outlet channel. A distributor is operatively connected to the inlet channel, and a collector is connected to the outlet channel. The distributor and the inlet channel are constructed to direct associated material to be separated in the bed evenly across a longitudinal length of the bed in a horizontal direction.

  • Patent number: 9089793
Abstract: A chromatography column to bind molecules or proteins, is filled with a replaceable matrix and is provided with fill elements with which a single feed tube can be connected to an across the column distributed fill element. The fill element keeps an inner land area free from fill openings which can be closed. With the fill element it is possible to dispense the matrix into the column in an equally spread manner. Elements are present to internally flush the feed tube, while there are features to make the flushing impossible during filling with matrix.

  • Publication number: 20040182776
Abstract: The invention relates to a filtration system for filtering out particles, like molecules or proteins. The filtration system comprises a filter body (1) having a radial symmetry, which comprises a filter element (14) also having a radial symmetry, through which the liquid to be filtered is pressed from the outside in. A substantial part of the liquid to be filtered is directed tangentially alongside the filter surface, as a result of which the filter surface can be used longer before it will block. The filter element (14) comprises an adsorptive matrix, like a resin, to which the particles to be filtered are adsorbed. The filter element (14) is implemented as a cartridge, thanks to which the filtration system can be cleaned easily and fast, so that it can be used immediately for filtering out other types of particles.
