Patent number: 9081164Abstract: A telecommunications termination panel includes a pivoting tray with cable connection locations. Cables extending to the connection locations enter through the rear or the side and exit through the side of the panel. Cable management structures direct cables to and away from the connection locations. A first trough extends from the rear to the front of the panel housing, the first trough raised from the floor thereof. A second trough extends from the rear to the front of the tray and is pivotal relative to the first trough with movement of the tray. When the tray is closed, the troughs are parallel and when the tray is open, the troughs are perpendicular to each other. The second trough is raised from the first trough such that cables extending from the first into the second trough are not pinched when the tray is pivoted closed.Type: GrantFiled: August 24, 2012Date of Patent: July 14, 2015Assignee: ADC Telecommunications, Inc.Inventors: Timothy G. Badar, Jose Federico Mendoza, Gustavo Cano, Edward T. Landry, Marcelo Enrique Ruiz, Dominic J. Louwagie

Patent number: 8824850Abstract: An insect-infestation prevention device and a fiber optic telecommunications equipment including an insect-infestation prevention device is disclosed. The fiber optic telecommunications equipment includes a housing with a main housing portion defining a first transverse wall, a front wall, a rear wall, a top wall, and a bottom wall, cooperatively defining an interior. A cable exit/entry is provided opening on one of the front wall, the rear wall, the top wall, and the bottom wall. A removable insect-infestation prevention device is located adjacent the cable exit/entry opening, the insect-infestation prevention device including cable openings communicating with the cable exit/entry opening. The cable openings of the device are sized to accommodate fiber optic cables exiting or entering the housing while limiting the amount of free space around the fiber optic cables to prevent insects from entering the housing.Type: GrantFiled: January 20, 2011Date of Patent: September 2, 2014Assignee: ADC Telecommunications, Inc.Inventors: Gustavo Garcia, Timothy G. Badar, Juan Munoz, Erik Gronvall, Marcelo Enrique Ruiz, Scott C. Sievers, Clair Iburg, Kristofer Bolster, John Pfarr

Patent number: 8705930Abstract: A breakout assembly in accordance with one aspect of the invention includes a housing including a tubular body defining a passage extending from a first end to an opposite second end of the body. An interior surface of the body includes a plurality of longitudinal guides, the interior surface further including a stop. The tubular body defines a plurality of openings extending through the body on opposite sides of the stop. The breakout assembly further includes a cap which is slidably received within the body of the housing, wherein notches within the cap receive the guides of the housing, and wherein the cap is engageable with the stop. The cap defines a plurality of internal openings extending through the cap. A multi-fiber cable can be received within the body from one end, and a plurality of breakout tubings are received within the body of the opposite end.Type: GrantFiled: June 16, 2011Date of Patent: April 22, 2014Assignee: ADC Telecommunications, Inc.Inventors: Jing Lu, Carlos Aviles, Marcelo Enrique Ruiz, Jacobo Eduardo Vazquez, Foad Abdulakdir Mohamed Ahmed

Patent number: 8600208Abstract: A telecommunications module includes a plurality of adapters mounted at a front face. The adapters are provided in groups of two and are stacked extending from the top to the bottom of the module. The front face of the module defines a center portion, a right portion, and a left portion. According to one embodiment, the right and the left portions are generally angled forwardly at an acute angle relative to a line that is perpendicular to the sides of the module as they extend from the center toward the right and left sides of the module. Each angled portion defines a slope as it extends from the center portion toward the right and left sides. The angled portions define a stepped configuration as they extend from the center toward the sides. Each step in the stepped configuration defines adapter receptacles that are also angled at an acute angle with respect to a line that generally defines the slope of the angle of the right and left angled portions.Type: GrantFiled: May 4, 2011Date of Patent: December 3, 2013Assignee: ADC Telecommunications, Inc.Inventors: Timothy G. Badar, Gustavo Garcia, Juan Munoz, Edward T. Landry, Dominic J. Louwagie, Marcelo Enrique Ruiz, Ricardo Armendariz
