Patent number: 12552358Abstract: A purge valve with an integrated safety function, suitable for an air-drying device. In the purge valve a purge-valve body forms a first exhaust passage for connecting an inlet line to an outlet line. A purge-valve piston is arranged inside the purge-valve body to control a flow of exhaust air through the first exhaust passage upon reception of a purge signal. The purge-valve piston comprises a through opening being configured to form a second exhaust passage for connecting the inlet line to the outlet line. A valve member is arranged in the through opening and is configured to control a flow of exhaust air through the second exhaust passage. The valve member is configured to be actuated by pressurized air when a pressure value in the inlet line exceeds a threshold actuation pressure.Type: GrantFiled: August 31, 2022Date of Patent: February 17, 2026Assignee: ZF CV SYSTEMS EUROPE BVInventor: Marcin Biernat

Publication number: 20230311831Abstract: An electro-pneumatic hand brake system is for a vehicle with spring-loaded brakes. The system includes a pneumatic relay valve, a bistable solenoid valve for controlling the relay valve and a control unit for controlling the bistable solenoid valve. An outlet of the relay valve is connected to ports for the spring-loaded brakes. An inlet of the bistable solenoid valve is provided for connecting to a line carrying ventilation pressure. A self-retaining switching valve with a control input is provided before the inlet of the bistable solenoid valve. The self-retaining switching valve can be moved against the force of a restoring element from a blocking position into a flow-through position when there is sufficient pressure at its control input. An outlet of the self-retaining switching valve is connected to the inlet of the bistable solenoid valve.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 5, 2023Publication date: October 5, 2023Inventors: Rudolf Dueckmann, Maciej Semeniuk, Marcin Biernat

Patent number: 11713790Abstract: A torque limiting assembly is disclosed comprising: an input shaft; an output shaft; and spring having a first end coupled to the input shaft and a second end coupled with the output shaft. In a low torque mode, when the input shaft is rotated the spring is compressed by a low amount and transmits a force to drive rotation of the output shaft, whereas in a high torque mode the spring is compressed by a high amount such that the input shaft rotates relative to the output shaft. This relative rotation moves or urges an engagement member so as to either: disconnect the input shaft from the output shaft; or engage a housing to prevent or inhibit rotation of the input shaft relative to the housing.Type: GrantFiled: August 17, 2021Date of Patent: August 1, 2023Assignee: HAMILTON SUNDSTRAND CORPORATIONInventors: Marcin Biernat, Kamil Babicki

Patent number: 10597915Abstract: A locking mechanism comprises a base comprising a pair of arms projecting therefrom and defining an open mouthed recess for receiving a member to be selectively retained in the recess. The mechanism further comprises a pair of locking elements mounted between said pair of arms for rotational movement between a retracted position in which they permit access to the recess and an extended position in which they extend at least partially across the mouth of the recess. The arms comprise respective guides to guide the movement of said locking elements between said retracted and extended positions. The mechanism further comprises a drive for simultaneously moving the locking elements in opposite rotational directions. The drive may comprise a drive shaft having left handed and right handed threaded portions.Type: GrantFiled: May 17, 2017Date of Patent: March 24, 2020Assignee: HAMILTON SUNDSTRAND CORPORATIONInventor: Marcin Biernat
