  • Publication number: 20230018936
Abstract: A “TUNABLE VISCOELASTIC NEUTRALIZER WITH OSCILLATING MASS ON SHAFT FOR CONTROL OF VIBRATIONS IN PIPES IN GENERAL” is a dynamic viscoelastic vibration neutralizer for industrial pipes, consisting of a metallic housing (CAR), to which the shaft supports (SE1 and SE2) are fixed, by means of the use of the screws (PF1, PF2, PF3, PF4, PF5 and PF6), the supports of the viscoelastic pieces (SM1 and SM2) and the supports of the housing itself (SC1, SC2, SC3 and SC4), which allow the junction of the device with the system to be controlled; an oscillating mass (MAS), fixed in the center of a metallic shaft (EIX), which is supported by the shaft supports (SE1 and SE2); and two sets of viscoelastic pieces (MV-1 and MV-2), which are fixed by one of their ends to the supports of the viscoelastic pieces (SM1 and SM2) and by the other to the oscillating mass (MAS).

  • Patent number: 9866109
Abstract: A method is performed in a control device for controlling a power compensation arrangement including a voltage source converter and one or more power compensation branches, each power compensation branch including a thyristor controlled reactor, a thyristor switched reactor or a thyristor controlled capacitor. The voltage source converter and the one or more power compensation branches are connected to a same busbar. The method includes: detecting a request in an electrical power system to which the power compensation arrangement is connected; determining, based on the request, a need for reactive power supply to the electrical power system; providing reactive power by means of the voltage source converter and/or by one or more of the power compensation branches; and compensating, by means of the voltage source converter, any disturbances caused by the power compensation branches when providing the reactive power to the electrical power system. Corresponding devices are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9337645
Abstract: A method in a controller for protection of a voltage source converter including one or more phases, each phase including one or more series-connected converter cells. Each converter cell has a by-pass switch for enabling by-pass thereof. The method includes the steps of detecting an over-voltage condition, and controlling simultaneously the by-pass switches of each converter cell, so as to bypass the converter cells upon detection of such over-voltage condition. The invention also encompasses a controller, computer programs and computer program products.

  • Publication number: 20090284876
Abstract: A voltage source converter including a string of series connected active semiconducting elements. The converter includes in case of an active semiconducting element failure a calculation element configured to calculate an operation dc voltage including a sum of dc ratings of each remaining active semiconducting element in the string, and a regulator configured to regulate the converter to assume the operation dc voltage over the converter.
